I thought it was 40%...you know...4 in 10. You must be from the SEC.
Yeah didn’t proof read. My slide-rule needs new batteries
and no on the SEC thing.
Both Oklahoma and USouthernCalifornia are vastly improved teams. USC’s total victory over Washington surprised me; but there we have it.
Why should any champion be second in quality to either of these teams?
Playoffs are an excellent way to end a season. Sadly, not enough teams are involved, I’d like to see more in the playoff. So would the advertisers and sports bars.
Yes to the aside. To avoid confusion here in the Lowcountry of South Carolina we call the one in Southern Cal the real USC. Never thought much about this but I recently learned that the footprint of those who call the Gamecocks Carolina isn’t that big. Mainly centered in the mid state of SC. Most everywhere else when one says Carolina when referring to college sports, it’s North Carolina. Their basketball team’s successes are the main reason
The album remains a masterpiece.
There’s a DVD on the making of Aja - HIGHLY recommended.
Video but not the highest quality: http://www.veoh.com/watch/v242044pCWxESzH
As I said, the three losses came at the start of the season and the team has vastly improved since Labor Day weekend. The Trojans recently knocked off the #4 team in the country, so calling USC the best or second best team in the nation isn't at all "silly."
The NFL? Isn't that the group that disses our National Anthem?
Go, Trojans! Beat the Domers!
Man, that was an excellent video !
Listened to a ton of SD in days gone by, but didn’t realize til watching just now how good/smooth they really were.
Many thanks !
I don’t want expanded playoffs, because it will dilute the importance of regular season games.
Who really cares about College Basketball until the Tournament?
Thanks. Well that makes some sense. However another way to distinguish between the two schools is by the word “state:”
Ohio University
The Ohio State University
You do have a point. College basketball has too many games. How can students be away from their studies that much?
Oh, maybe they’re not real students?
And sets up a potentially ugly scenario where the Conference champion is denied a spot in the playoffs, while a team that didnt even win their Division will go.
not as ugly as PSU’s 49-10 loss to UM...sorry, but OSU with one loss trumps PSU with two losses every time..
may be in the process turning the Big 10 into the next dominant conference.
according to Big Ten fans, they’re always going to be the next dominant conference...and yet...
but I dont understand the irrational hatred of the SEC
the oldest impulse in the human psyche; envy...
I once researched the BCS champions from 2006 through 2016, and as I recall the BCS champion was an SEC team in all but two years. To the larger point, I think a great conference is made by great coaches. The current generation of SEC coaches will pass from the scene in the not-to-distant future, and I don’t see comparable younger talent yet. In the Big 10 I think the coaches at Michigan, OSU, and Wisconsin are relatively young and have a bright future. We’ll see, but for now no conference is close to the SEC.
Ok - maybe USC will be good enough to have a good record next season. I think wish them well. IMO a 3 loss season is good, but not national champion contender good.
USC Trojans
Another factor to consider: in 2016, the USC Trojans achieved a winning record despite having, arguably, the toughest schedule in the country. All of our opponents were ranked, played in bowl games last year, or both. No creampuffs like Kent State or Western Kentucky, which were on Alabama’s schedule.
Here’s hoping we can outlast the Domers on Saturday and go to Santa Clara (if Utah wins) or a decent bowl game. I’ll be in the Coliseum cheering the Trojans on.
Why is Ohio State wearing alternate uniforms for the Michigan game?
That’s just not right.
