.256 Ferret carbine
I like revolvers too. My oldest and still favorite is a Dan Wesson with 6-inch barrel in 44 Mag. I bought it about 34 years ago and is still a great shooter. Just picked up a Ruger Blackhawk in 41 Mag with 7 1/2 inch barrel. Have not shot it yet, but the trigger feels good.
Ok, I’m split personality - half .223 (really 5.56) and half 30-06.
My Marine sniper gunsmith/FFL friend (Desert Storm) is .308.
My FFL good friend/neighbor is a .45/70 I think, tho he’s got mounted trophies of almost every African favorite hunt beast at his house and I think he got them all with a .308......
Interesting......
First rifle I ever shot was my dad’s M1 Garand .30-’06. I fell in love with it as a young teen, even with the painful Garand Thumb. Live and learn! The M1 is still my favorite rifle to shoot. Has a lot of sentimental value, and is also a fine weapon.

I’ve come to consider lever actions as the original assault rifles.
Yeah, me too. They are not as readily available and climbing in price lately. Wish I had moved on it a few years ago.
.338?
Done. You are definitely One Lucky Dude.
1974 Browning BLR in .243 (first year their Japan plant was in operation... Guess Im just old-school.
You Sir, sound like an Appleseed Rifleman!
Oh, it could only be a .35 Remington. Best woods rifle, ever.
.270 Win man checking in. I’ve got a Browning A-Bolt topped with a German Zeiss Diavari scope. I have a soft spot for my old 30-30 and enjoy others, but the Browning is my favorite.
I like whatever cartridge the rifle in my hand accepts.
What does that say about me?
Makes shoving it back into the saddle scabbard a little easier.
Maybe, but a 444 Marlin is right up there too.
And your hand just naturally wraps around the receiver when you grasp it one-handed.
That too.
Shot a feral hog with one of those once ... it was ... potent.
Hog didn’t have a chance.
I've got both and most of the time it's the 30-30 for me. Besides the cartridge, there is something more elemental about the lever action. If someone else was buying my ammo, it would be the Marlin 90% of the time.
