What is the Appetite for a 'Cord-Cutters Ping Group'?
Vanity ^ | 11/18/2016 | RinaseaofDs

I have been watching OANN as a cord cutter for three weeks and its positive attitude and its willingness to air news even Fox won't air has convinced me that cord cutters need help (I know I do) locating quality, non-cable sources of programming.

I plan on a separate vanity about One America News Network, but I think cord cutting is a concept that needs to reach a tipping point.

Thoughts?

Iced chao. No one knows what it is, but you have to try it.

Her adoring fans certainly seem to be eating it up.

We cut the cord about 7 years ago now. It was ‘withdraw-el-y’ for the first month or so. Haven’t missed it since then. I highly encourage it. We have nearly a hundred bucks a month now for whatever we want, instead of being insulted from every channel.

Check out PlayStation Vue streaming service. They include about 50 stations for about $30/mo. (Including Fox News and Fox Business). It also has a DVR type function. Selected shows are stored in the cloud for later viewing. PlayStation Vue works great with the Amazon Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote. The Fire TV Stick includes a skip function to bypass commercials for recorded programs. Skip function not provided on the Roku. The Fire TV Stick works much better than the Roku overall. I have just cut the cord and am very pleased so far.

Hey! I am TOTALLY in!

Been cord-cut for 4 years. Roku, primarily.

1. Amazon and Netflix are my paid for stuff. (Well, OAN too)

2. Early on, I got Playon, with the OneChannel plugin. Nearly anything you can imagine on there.

3. Plex - with the inclusion of the SS-Plex and “Let Me Watch This” channels, there is very little I can’t find when I want to watch it.

4. XTV - Although it can be a bit buggy/laggy at times, I can watch Fox News (or most other news channels) pretty much “live”.

It is a plethora of movies, TV shows, documentaries, etc. A cornucopia.

It’s like trying to drink from a fire hose.

I would love to hear from other cutters what gems they find and how they improve their entertainment experience.

C

Please add me! I’m just a couple weeks away from ditching FIOS. Looking forward to that call! I’ve been slowly weaning myself from mindless surfing. Already tested my $25 antenna and it works great!

JeepersFreepers, you actually get FoxNews on PlayStation Vue? Live FoxNews and not just access to video segments?

Discovered Fox News live on YouTube under GRAMPS HOUSE. Decent feed. And it is free.

Count me in!

We cut cable a month ago and it was the best entertainment decision. There is far more outside of Comcast, Dish, and DirectTV. Far more. Many production companies cannot get their material on those political companies, so all the Internet based providers have them.

Oh! Thank you so much! I know two other sites have it as well:

http://streamfare.com/foxnews.html

http://www.hulkusc.com/watch-fox-news-live-streaming/

Extra adds and stoppages make both sites annoying, however.

Spooky!

By pursuing obvious silliness and puns we have inadvertently hit on a hidden, subliminal but very real truth. (Given the spirit Cooking with blood and the Comet Pizza Ping Pong Pedophile ring and the Feminist “sacrament” of abortion.)

“Cold Child” indeed!

(~shiver~)

Spooky indeed. At that time wikileaks hadn’t released the demonic Spirit Cooking crap.

So that slip by the google close-captioning system by accident transformed the clearly audible “cold chai” to “cold child”.

Mere black humor at the time but with what we know, maybe a revealing slip of the brainium clutch of that witch.

“So my total monthly bill went from $250.00 per month, to $120.00 per month.”

That is about I expect to save by cutting our Comcast to just internet and phone and the monthly sling charge.

I’m waiting for a price war for a fast, good and secure internet access.

We have smart TVs that can have the various service provider apps like Netflix, and we use the Amazon FireStick. The Amazon FireStick works great, and it seems to be the best. It offers lots of Aamzon content but also Netflix, Hulu, and dozens of other services built in. Any TV with an HDMI connector can use it.

For Internet, I have Comcast Business service. It costs more than residential, but it is worth it, and I need it for business use. Any residential over 11 Mbps will work for TV service just fine. Heck, I’ve seen Internet as low as 3 Mbps work. The services just reduce the resolution to fit.

So far I subscribe to Netflix for $12/month, Hulu for $12/month, CBS All-Access for $10/month, and FlowdTV.com (to get the One America News network, the only news channel I have found that does a great job of reporting the news) for $7/month.

Hope that helps.
