Navy. That implies being able to deal with water.

Apparently not in this case.

The *real* problem is the over-harvesting of sea sponges.

Every time they remove a sea sponge, all the water drains out of it.

If they remove *all* the sea sponges, the whole earth will flood.

/no, really :D

Actual numbers from a couple of years ago -

https://wattsupwiththat.com/2014/09/13/virginia-sea-level/

And NOAA says 1.51 ft in 100 years... will that flood out a Navy base?

Drill a hole in the bottom of the ocean and drain it a little. Why do I always have to be the smart guy who thinks of these things?

Everybody has their bit.

So, how much has Norfolk sunk in the last two decades?

The secretary needs to shut up.

There is no conceivable mechanism by which the sea level could rise more than a few inches. Even if we were to assume a five degree rise in temperature, which no climate model predicts, the sea level would still not rise more than this.

Warming is fraud. Sea Level Rise is fantasy.

The Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus is a moron.

Claim That Sea Level Is Rising Is a Total Fraud

Sea levels began to rise 18k years ago at the end of the last glacial period. They have risen about 135 meters since then which is an average of 7.5 millimeters per year. That is an average of 750 mm per century (29.5 inches) which is far more than the average over the last century.

From 1880 to 2000 sea level rose about 20 cm or just under 8 inches. Far less than the nearly 30 inches per century average over the last 18,000 years.
