With all the hub-bub about the possibilities of election fraud, I decided to volunteer to be a poll worker for the first time. When I finally got a hold of someone in my state, I was in for quite a surprise…

It was if I was donating a healthy liver to someone. I first found out that it’s really not a volunteer position at all – you get paid for the day. I do training this week in the evening, then the whole day November 8.

And yes, I have a full time job. But since my boss is in complete support of my reasons for doing this, he’ll cover for me on Election Day.

Here’s the catch for all the nay-sayers out there: My state NEEDS people at these polling places. I don’t know about most of you, but I never even thought about working a poll on any election. But I do vote. I remember always wondering who would be manning these polling places in the next generation since all the current poll workers I saw – probably won’t be around for the next generation.

To a degree, I feel like a front line solider. Yes, I know what you some of you vets are thinking, and thank you for your service – but these days, who knows what may happen at polling places this time around – and I’m not allowed to shoot back. With that said, this is clearly a moment in American History where waiting for someone else to do it won’t cut it. I decided after watching the first of the Project Veritas videos to volunteer for this.

My job on Election Day: Verifying identifications when folks come in to vote. I am being treated with open arms. They are glad to have me – or ANY new person on board. If this works out, I will continue doing it as long as we’re allowed to have elections. If this message makes anyone reading it call their local board of elections and sign up, it’ll be worth the time I spent writing this letter.

Yes, I will have my phone. Yes, I will be wearing red. Yes, I’ll be taking notes.

And here’s more: I’ll be door knocking, sign hanging i.e., canvasing this weekend and next in my state. Again, I have NEVER done these things – the things our opponents have done for years. Yes, I know there is vote fraud. I grew up in the ‘hood’ and worked in media for over 15 years. I’ve seen the bias first hand. I’ve witnessed local candidates win elections while never showing up to campaign. I have heard election returns come in when votes were still bagged sitting in trucks. I’ve donated to candidate, been to too many rallies, and some of you may know – did a few myself back in the day. But never took it upon myself to actually get directly involved politically.

That time has come. Lord only knows how many elections I have left, but I want my grandkids to have them after I’m gone. If you know what is at stake, get involved. Do what you can. Give. Work. Lobby. Volunteer. Help get folks to the polls. What’s the policy on paper ballots where you live? Find out. Report.

We’re not just doing this for us. It’s for our children, grandchildren, and folks who haven’t even been born yet. Is your country worth saving? Is it worth fighting for? Remember, the only thing needed for evil to succeed is for good people to do nothing. I’m in no shape to be a foot solider, but I can no longer be part of the do nothing crowd. The time has come for Real Americans to stand on their own two feet, and crawl before no one.

… and I volunteered to be a poll worker for the first time.

Thank you! Here in Illinois we don’t get paid to be a poll watcher. The day starts at 5:30am and ends at 7:00pm. No breaks, because we can’t find enough people to help. I will be doing it again, because it is so important! I’ll be wearing red, too!!

In Florida contact your county Supervisor of elections. They list all the salaries and positions. I am a Poll Deputy for my assigned Precent in Miramar Florida. You go to 1 class and you are certified by a Deputy Sheriff and you serve election day making sure no 2 bit politican tries to electioneer closer than 100 feet from the entrance post your signs and after checking with the pct clerk become the last person in the line at 7PM= 1900 Hours you must show at 0530 5:30 AM.......please volunteer you are paid for your time.......

Awesome!!!

Couple questions...in which state do you live, and, since you mentioned the ‘hood, are you a minority? Just figuring that might have something to do with your warm welcome, if it’s the case.

Regardless, your post is very encouraging and I may just give my board a call too. Although I am in a marginally red state, it *is* Arkansas, and my neighborhood is quite liberal so who knows what might happen here.

I wish there was an organized effort to watch for buses of people going from one polling point to the next. We’ve been told it happens, by the people in the DNC themselves. I would say that a poll watcher should look out onto the parking lot from time to time...maybe note the bus number.

Maybe Alex Jones could offer 5k to any rider on those buses who reveals what’s going on?

Someone with a grasp of the transit system could also draw up likely routes where people would use public transit to go from one polling station to the next. That would be harder to identify than a charter bus (or a school bus used as same on a day when kids aren’t in school).

I also think each polling station should have a web camera where citizens could watch. It wouldn’t take long for someone to notice the same people showing up at multiple places. At least there would be a visual record of it.

So many easy ways to fight voter fraud...

Regardless of the outcome of this election, I call on everyone to join me in the utter destruction of the existing structure of the GOP. Yes, I will be a committeeman (they call it something else here). But the new opposition party to the democrats WILL response to the will of the rank and file.

Those that do not may as well join the democrats for all I care.

I gave up being a poll worker this year because the training sucks, the democrats who work my precinct won’t even show up at the night before the election meeting, and the democrat who assists me opening and closing the polling location is impossible to work with. After 4 years of this, I don’t need another heart event.

I’ve been doing it for about twenty years, in a quiet suburban district with about 800 registrants. I’ve gotten to know many of them (the ones who show up for off-year elections and primaries in particular) and even the RATs seem to be nice enough folks.

I wonder, though, if we’re going to get a notice to NOT wear red while working the polls as any indication of partisanship by board workers is forbidden. Since the wearing of red has been publicized as partisan for Trump, it will not surprise me if such an order comes down.

RED also stands for “Remember Everyone Deployed”

A shirt with that on it would show support for our military.

I worked at the polls several times - but a long time ago - the last time was the Reagan-Carter election!

Today I'm doing a 2-hour stint at the local Trump phone bank, and I'll go a couple of additional times this week.

I am phone banking right now. I hate phones but am ‘manning up’ and doing it anyway.
