Rest in peace. Takes us back to another time and place, to remember singers such as Bobby Vee.

He had some good hits, right in the period after the classic rock & roll era ended at the end of the 1950s and the beginning of the “British Invasion” circa 1964.

I hated every ONE of those pretty boys ... I was a mutt and couldn't compete !
The BEATLES actually saved American teenage love/puppy love ... THEY were foreigners and untouchable, so they (the girls) might as well be satisfied with US.

You may not recognize the name of the song, but (if you are a first-half Baby Boomer) I think you will recognize the melody.

This is one of my
all-time favorite Christmas songs. It's the one Bobby Vee song that I know.
I believe my parents have the original 1962 release on vinyl. I've got it on MP3 and more than a few compact discs.

Hah! From the title I thought, why have I never heard of it?
But, you’re right, as soon as I heard the melody kick off, it was like, D’oh, of course. This was an era of instrumental hits like Canadian Sunset and was overwhelmed, to the chagrin of Hit Parade’s Giselle McKinsey, by raucous rock.
