California State University Fullerton listed dozens of words as inappropriate because theyre too gendered, including secretary, workmanship, and man-made.
The list is part of an Inclusive Language Program, which several other universities have also adopted.
CSU-Fullerton asked students to suggest what words and phrases you want people to eliminate.
Princeton recently backpedaled after putting out a similarly restrictive inclusive language guide.
Secretary is an exclusive word thats inappropriate to use, California State University Fullerton told students on a handout about gender-inclusive language. Instead, use administrative assistant, the guide said.
Also off-limits: Mankind, man the desk/phones/tables, hey guys, man-made, workmanship, hey, dudes! and the common man. And dont even think about using man or calling someone Mrs. or Miss, or more than a dozen other words and phrases.

Why not just call everyone “Comrade”, and get it over with.

No more Secretary of State or Interior, Education, Defense, etc. I could adjust to that. Then I’m a people not a man? Confusing! Those reeducation camps will be so handy.

Every time I hear Kissinger or even Kerry addressed, it's always by "Secretary". Administrative Assistant Kissinger? Yeah, right. Might work better with Kerry, though.
And BTW, Abraham Lincoln had two male secretaries. What will they do with THAT?

Might work better with Kerry, though. As someone who did secretarial work back in the 70's, I just don't think JF'n Kerry is up for the work.

California State University Fullerton: I've never heard of it before. I suspect this is of no importance.
