Since it's the 75th anniversary year of Wonder Woman's debut, I'm reasonably sure Warner Bros. slipped an "inducement" to the selection committee to assure the outcome. In return, they get free publicity for one of their properties. All the SJW hysteria is just silly.
In fact, they should be grateful. There's another character that could have been chosen that would have made their heads explode.

Film/videos usually operate through sequels and prequels. Comics are so episodic that the time line doesn’t need consistency, so things can be added anywhere along the time line. In fact, there usually isn’t a time line.
In other words, I think it would be more difficult to take a primarily video character and revise his character than to do the same for a cartoon/comic book character. But then again, many of the famous video characters are derived from comics, and it doesn’t take much imagination to read something into the Batman/Robin relationship.

Instead of settling wars and resolving human rights violations, he said, the institution was "defining diplomacy down" by arguing about parking tickets.
Mr. Giuliani was no kinder to the State Department, which just last month, in a public ceremony, signed an agreement with the city to force diplomats to pay their parking tickets on the threat of removing their plates. With State Department officials now seeking to remove the teeth from that agreement, the Mayor accused them of cowering to overblown United Nations threats to leave the United States over the parking rules, and said the diplomats’ bluff should be called.
"If they’d like to leave New York over parking tickets, then we can find another use for that area of town," he said. "It happens to be just about the most valuable real estate in the world, not just in the United States. That is enormously valuable real estate, and with the vacancy rates that exist in the city of New York, can you imagine what we could do with that?"
In case anyone thought he was bluffing, he had city lawyers check the United Nations lease to determine who gets the riverfront property if the institution leaves town.

The New Adventures Of Wonder Woman was better in the WWII era. That 70s era next season is almost too comical to watch.
Both still beat Cathy Lee Crosby’s earlier movie version.

I liked the version in those Justice League cartoons from a few years ago.

Well, it appears that when the Manic Multiculturalist, Ambiguously-sexual, Marching Morons (MMAMM) want to ‘decry’ such things as Anglos eating Mexican (food) or Chinese (food) etc., they call it ‘Cultural Appropriation’ (CA). Well, to my mind, ALL of these comic-book characters from (and before) my youth are part of MY CULTURE, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Fantastic Four and Spiderman just to name a few! All of them were, from their first drawing, main-stream American in action and culture. Sure, Superman was a real alien [as developed by good Jews] but his (then) motto of “Truth, Justice and the American Way” was as good as “Mom and Apple Pie!”
So now, why cannot we, the DEPLORABLES, turn this ‘Cultural Appropriation’ back on THEM? It is CA to, willy-nilly, change these characters into the ad hoc cause just so that others can ‘feel the love!’ Stuff that into your hookah and smoke it!
