We Are Living In A Nihilistic World

“Americans have learned to expect, after every Islamist terror attack, lectures instructing them that such assaults should in no way be connected to Islamic faith of any kind.” — Dorothy Rabinowitz

In Vancouver, B.C. they are now handing out free heroin to addicts. Turns out that the B.C. government is spending more money on drugs than on treatment to get addicts off drugs. One caller phoned in to a CBC Radio host, complaining about the absurdity of such a self-defeating strategy and remarking: “We are living in a nihilistic world.” He pointed out what should have been the obvious, that such a program did nothing but encourage addicts from the surrounding areas to move to Vancouver to get free drugs, that handing out free heroin to these addicts would only accommodate their addiction, not remedy it.

We are doing to the same for jihadists. We are bending over backwards to avoid connecting Islamic terrorist attacks with Islam proper. We are concocting the most bizarre excuses for the religion of Islam, so as not to blame the religion of Islam for the transgressions of its most zealous (and always murderous) followers. This is why I long ago referred to Islam as “the Teflon religion.” Because nothing seems to stick to it. No amount of savagery and bloodletting in the name of Islam seems to bring any measure of culpability to Islam.

Jews and Zionism are calumniated for all the misfortune befalling the so-called Palestinians; Christians are blamed even for Islamic terror attacks (e.g. the Orlando terror attack); but Muslims and Islam seem to be covered by clouds of exculpation when it comes to their most observant religious.

"As Alasdair Palmer of the UK’s Telegraph reported way back in 2009, “So it is a mistake to pretend that there is no conflict between principles that are supposed to animate British society – freedom of religion, equality of the sexes, and the primacy of secular law made by democratic representatives – and fundamentalist interpretations of Islam. But much official policy seems to be based on the hope that such a conflict is illusory, and will simply evaporate if we pretend it is not there.” Well, this conflict is still with us, plaguing Western societies at an even greater rate than it was in 2009. And we are still pretending it is not there. We most certainly are living in a nihilistic world. Now more than ever."

Yes, and half of Americans don’t know what nihilistic means and won’t ever know as long as their heads are up their a$$es.

I agree in general about nihilism, not sure if the Vancouver drug substitution program is that good an example, what it does in reality is to take addicts off the street and into medical clinic regulation, which gives them a better chance of treatment and recovery, as well as reducing the crime rate (addicts breaking into cars and apartments has been a major problem). At a distance it may appear that Vancouver is just “creating” drug addicts but the reality is that they are already addicted and the clinics are changing things for the better. Also, we get a lot of criticism of the drug epidemic from places where the addicts used to live, before they moved to the source of supply, so I never quite understand what the complaints really mean, do you want them back? Cuz there are buses sitting empty during the week, and trains too, we could give them all a one-way ticket home. They don’t grow up here, they just practice their lifestyle here. Maybe there’s something about the way they are brought up? You could look into that perhaps.

I truly believe that our present nihilism, disfunction and indeed apathy have roots in one thing - our corrupted monetary system.

We have a completely fiat, paper money system, managed by a Progressive-era, soviet style, politicized entity called the Federal Reserve.

The conditions have fallen such that for this brief period, America, as the worlds dominant power, can print all the money, and create all the debt it needs to paper over every perceived problem and social ill, and to pay off every organized group or entity, as well as keep afloat scores of crony-capitalist big businesses.

This means social-engineers and progressive can continue to fund their social engineering schemes - until one day everything collapses.

That is when the nihilism will end.

The disintegrated mode of thought of libtardism intentionally works to destroy man’s mind and values as an end in itself, for the sake of destruction, and not for any specific gain. This naturally leads to nihilism. It started with Kant and has been increasing ever since.
