There are usually 16 episodes per season, which means about 8 episodes until the mid-season hiatus.

The show is based on a graphic comic book series. They have switched a few characters due to popularity and slowed or sped up character arcs for production purposes, but it pretty much has followed the comic.

If they follow the comic it’s Glenn.

Negan could be chopping Rick’s hand off but
you have to wonder why Negan would drag him
inside to bloody up an RV with no audience
and no help to hold Rick down.

A lot of fan sites claiming insider information are saying it’s Glenn and Abraham. Take it for what it’s worth.

I have the feeling that the first episode will leave the viewers absolutely drained. (can’t wait!) My bet is Eugene and Glen. I’m thinking Eugene first to allow the viewer to think it is done and then the surprise with Glen. That being said.. please NOT Daryl. Please, please, please, please. :)

I have read all the comics I could find......... But, I would think the right hand man refers to either Eugene, as he drove the bus, or, whoever was physically on Ricks right...just saying. The comics are spectacular and I would hope the show follows them.......

They hinted pretty hard that Glenn and Abraham wouldn’t be around a whole lot longer, so I would not be surprised. Abraham wore dress blues as if he was ready for a funeral. Life was way too happy for them both especially with Glenn happy that he’s going to be a dad, etc.

I’m going with Glenn gets killed, per the comics (second bet would be Daryl, because they haven’t done much with his character lately)

and Rick keeps his hand.

Rick losing his hand in the comics was shocking and a big deal when it happened, but then became a nothing as the series continued. It would be the same on TV, but then they’re stuck doing special effects on every episode to make him handless - and for no particular benefit. Sure they did it for Hershel, but he wasn’t in nearly as many scenes as Rick. .

Well, they did say we’d be seeing less of Rick and more of the other characters this season. So he wears a green glove and then that gets keyed out. That’s not very difficult to do anymore.

Thanks for the ping. I watched some of the links on You Tube. The next episode is going to be a hum dinger, but whoever the victim is, it’s going to suck too-don’t really want to lose any of them.

Same thing that happened to me last year. I was only going to watch one episode, just so I’d know what everyone was talking about. Like potato chips, one just wasn’t enough. Watched the rest every night till there was nothing left, and then the next season started.

Sounds good. I have this season so far on DVR, so I’m going to have to watch some to refresh my memory before the Oct 23 episode, but I’ll watch the Talking Dead this Sunday. Thanks for the ping.

Anybody else wondering whether or not this episode will
commence by answering the main question we have all
been asking since the last scene of last season? I
certainly do considering the history of this series.

Losing established cast members is not a fun thing to
look forward to but there is only so much room to
develop plots and characters and I suppose they want
to keep things fresh.
