Charter internet has been down for about 16 hours. Other providers like Time Warner and Comcast are showing widespread outages. Using phone and data to post this.

I’m on Time Warner, and I’m not having any issues at all.
That is why I posted this. How could they not fix it in 16 hours.
They never fixed their outage, so I finally called the repair number and scheduled an appointment.
The next day, about an hour before they were supposed to get here, I thought maybe I should go around the house and unplug all boxes and TV's except for the one I watch the most.
That's when I noticed that the little transformer that powers the system amplifier wasn't plugged in the wall outlet anymore. It was on the floor instead.
D'oh....I plugged back in and voila! Internet and cable restored!
I quickly cancelled the repair appointment while kicking my former techie self in the butt at the same time for not even bothering myself to do any troubleshooting what-so-ever before calling it in.
That's so bad it's not even up to an ESTO (Equipment Smarter Than Operator) level failure, so I'm glad I found it before the TWC tech did. I wouldn't be able to live that one down.
Until I told you that, I was just privately embarrassed about it, so please don't tell anybody else, okay?
My reputation as a super tech is about all I have left.

Century link was out for a month three years ago because of a flood. It is up to 25% now. Power was out yesterday while Trump was in town. Just coincidence.
Just got fiber running this morning - and we live on a gravel road in a county with less than 2k people!

I have Brighthouse, who Charter recently bought. No problems the last few days, but that’s not always the case. Thinking about Sling for tv.
