An Open Letter to Donald Trump: How You Could Have Crushed Clinton with One Sentence
The BB-like brain in my paint can-like head | 9/27/2016 | 60Gunner

Dear Mr. Trump:

I would wager that you are not one who suffers lengthy preambles gladly, so I will get straight to the point: You could have crushed Hillary's "tax returns" ambush with one sentence. Here it is:

"The Middle East is in chaos, our allies are endangered, our enemies are emboldened, our reputation among our international neighbors is sullied, and our nation's citizens are robbed of work and imperiled on their own soil by immigrant criminals and islamic terrorists thanks to the foreign policies that YOU executed during your tenure as Secretary of State in the first four years of this administration; yet YOU seem to think that the most important issue here is whether or not I release my tax returns."

Mr. Trump, I invite you to take my opinion for whatever worth to which you choose to ascribe. But I also implore you to guard yourself against the opposition's attempts to distract you from the main issues.

I know that when you are hit, you hit back. It is a quality that endears you to Americans like no other Republican candidate has in decades. And I personally do not care about your tax returns. What I do care about is that you convince a sufficient number of voters that you will be a faithful steward of the American blood and treasure to which you will be entrusted as president of the United States. Allowing yourself to be distracted by something as silly and irrelevant as your tax returns-especially during a live debate watched by millions of voters- will not help you.

Hammer home the point that Hillary has proven herself to be an untrustworthy, incompetent, and treacherous deal-maker whose greed and conniving borne of a lust for personal power and riches has cost the lives of Americans and jeopardized the security of our nation. Hammer home the point that Hillary is no friend of women. Hammer home that Hillary is no friend to Blacks, Asians, or Hispanics. Never let up on those points, because there is documented proof to support them. These are truths that Hillary cannot escape. Hit her with them relentlessly. And never allow her a chance to swing back with distractions, as she was allowed to do (with the assistance of the "moderator") in the first debate.

So, Mr. Trump, that is my "two cents" for you. I pray for your safety and for God's blessings be upon you, your family, and this great nation.

I just felt that I had to say something after the debate last night.

I thought it was more important to make the case that Hillary Clinton's email server was not a "mistake".

That it was created for the sole purpose of avoiding public accountability for her corrupt dealings with people bribing her for influence.

That the Chaos in the middle east is likely the consequence of both her stupidity and her corruption.

I agree. But I had to make the sentence as compact as possible. Listing every instance of Clinton’s incompetence, deceit, betrayal, corruption, and treason would require forests of paper and oceans of ink.

Many of us are frustrated this morning. Of course, you are correct. I suspect many great rejoinders will occur to him in the wee hours over the next two weeks. Let us pray he can drop the I, I, I , me, me, me. He needs to be the humble servant who has stepped forward to do what needed to be done and was al,ost uniquely positioned to do so. Don’t get distracted by the BS the moderators and Hillary put up. Just focus on taking her voters away from her. That is his only reason to be there.

I would have liked to have revisited the 3:00AM call during an international crisis and it's outcome Hillary told us all about?

Benghazi?

When Hillary started yammering about cyber-security, that provided a Mack truck opening for Trump to hit her on the email issue, and I was a bit puzzled why he didn’t. An epic response would’ve been: “Well now.. how ironic that YOU of all people would cite cyber security as a key issue. Let’s talk about your record on cyber security, starting with that unsecured server in your bathroom closet.”

Anybody who once was ANYTHING ELSE but now supports Hillary was a phony whatever it was they claimed to be. Personally, I am astonished we have survived this much of 0bama. I’m sure he is disappointed, too. I could be wrong, we have four months to go.

In any case, we almost certainly will not survive even four years of Hillary. Anyone supporting her clealy does not have the best interests of our country as a priority of any magnitude.

In response to the birther question: He should have simply replied, to coin a phrase, “At this point, what difference does it make”.

Also, just since we’re dispensing advice, I think Trump would’ve been wise to embrace his not not paying income taxes. He doesn’t write tax law! Congress does. He just used it to his advantage. HRC had her chance to close loopholes and did she? Hell no! Trump is a smart and honest bidnessman and he could’ve embraced it more than he did. I hate when these commie libs put forth the premise that feeding the beast via paying income taxes is a virtue. It is not.

Well said. You are dead on target with the concept. Trump has to stop defending himself on meaningless issues, and turn it around to attack Hillary’s record.

If Trump doesn’t like the question, take a moment to ridicule it, then attack Hillary.

I don't disagree with your point. What I am saying is that he could have taken what was clearly a critical tactic for Hillary out of her hands and made her look like a damn fool right out of the gate.

Mr. Trump simply cannot leave Hillary any room to strike, and he needs to immediately make her tactics look utterly pathetic- the actions of a person who has nothing to bring to the table and whose actions expose her as incompetent, untrustworthy, and hostile to this country and our security. Mr. Trump could have slapped Hillary's tax return red-herring tactic down with force and authority. And in having done that, he would have made it impossible for Hillary to ever bring it up again without appearing petty and ill-prepared to explain by the truth of her record.

Agree completely. I know he is proud of his companies. I know he is instinctively incredibly defensive of what he has built, but he needs to spend far less time talking about what he has built in the past and much more time talking about what he wants to build for our children.

I know that is where his heart his and those moments have been by far his most effective. He needs to bluntly tell people about how badly we are screwing our children and grandchildren with our present policies that she will continue. People get it - they just don’t like to admit it.

I was frustrated last night because I thought he left so many great points on the table. Points that he could have easily inserted into the debate despite being cross-examined by the moderator and the lack of hard questions for her. This morning it is pretty clear, if we believe what we are seeing, that he did fine and he still owns the trendline. That is a big relief. I want him to crush her and as we have seen I would fully expect him to do better in the next one and insert some of these points.

Trump is an honest American businessman who, like tens of millions of others, files his taxes in accordance with the laws every year.

He has been audited XXXX number of years by the IRS, has voluntarily submitted to yet another ongoing audit, and has employed the best possible accountants to make sure he is in full compliance with the laws, many of them passed during the 30 year political career of HRC and her cohorts.
No wrongdoing by intent has ever been charged or found.(state this repeatedly if correct)

Next question....
