I asked if that was a red Mao suit Hilary was wearing. I was told that I was showing my hate and ignorance.
I admitted that they were correct and thanked them for that, because it is true that I hate red Mao suits, but I wasn't up on the latest fashion trends.
Was I wrong? Are red Mao suits in fashion?

Imo whoever said that to you was a very rude leftist and you should have responded by punching them in the face.
P.s. Mao suits have a high collar with no lapels. It was not a Mao suit.
