Would you ping the Prayer Warriors.
RIP.
We had a chance to see her perform several years back. She gave a really good show. I have always enjoyed listening to her.
Remember her singing Slippin’ Away, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mx60hCsSjQ
We watch RFDTV’s Country’s Family Reunion and got to hear Jean sing many times.
So sad. Her greatest hit, in my opinion, was “Satin Sheets”.
I went to Nashville twice back in the mid 1990s and went to the Opry both times. Got to see Jean along with Hank Snow, Bashful Brother Oswald, Porter Wagoner, Grandpa Jones, Bill Monroe, and Little Jimmy Dickens, among many others. Feel glad that I got to see those legends in person who are now in “Hillbilly Heaven” with all of the others.
RIP Jean Shepard. We enjoyed her singing over the years and recently when she appeared on the RFDTV channel.
Thats Jeanne Pruett
Oh, my bad. Thanks.
Parkinson’s
Satisfied Mind; one of the best country songs ever, I believe her version was the first one to be charted. Porter Waggoner sings a great version too.
Don’t remember Jean Shepard doing Satin Sheets, many did, but Jeanne Pruett was the one who made it so famous.
Yep, and her gospel was good too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpbrWlXyy5I
Yeah; that was my bad. I got the two mixed up. It was Jeanne Pruett.
You’ll shoot your eye out!
Don’t feel bad. I also thought of Jean Shepherd, the humorist. Met him when he spoke at our college in the 70s and he was a great guy, on and off stage.
Then I remembered that he died a number of years ago.
