Thanks. Just wished I’d got it in earlier.

That boat either did one full twist in the air...

OR

One half twist with a full front somersault...

....NEXT?

Very sad, so young..as an Angels fan I feel your pain, when we lost Nick Adenhart to that tragic car crash it felt like the team was never the same again..not sure what he was doing out at 3am in a boat you just never know when life will end

My ex told me of some of her relatives at a wedding by the water. Heading backing back at night, they managed to hit a rock with what I’m assuming was a Boston Whaler type boat, 16’-23’, maybe.

Bruises only.>>. glad they are ok but charts, compass, running the bouys and logging your position even without GPS/Loran goes a long way to being safe at sea, with sun, moon and fog.

A lot of times you can barely detect much movement on the ball when watching TV, even though the announcers say great movement. With Fernandez, that was different.

Yes, in what I think was his last start, he beat the Nationals 1-0 against one of our best pitchers. Very sad, especially as a division rival who also was close to one of our better pitchers...so sorry for the loss to his friends and family.

Coupled with the fact that one cannot see well at 3 AM, unless one is a cat.

I frequent those waters on my 39 foot sailboat which is a lot slower BUT the first thing I teach someone before they take the helm is, you can get killed out here if you don't know what you are doing.

Almost any boat now has a GPS plotter mounted on or in the dash that makes what used to be dangerous pretty easy to do. There is little doubt in my mind that these guys were out cruising on a boat that had a lot of horsepower and a combined boater IQ that was very low.

Having seen plenty of morons out on weekend nights, you gotta bet that alcohol was involved.

And why would anybody now days believe much of anything the "authorities" or the presstitutes say? We know from the DNC emails the politicians lie and the presstitutes lie. The press is there to sell tickets to games, can't have them showing a player made a mistake.

He was really good. He had Tommy John and looked to have fully recovered.

Only 24 years old.

Jose Fernandez was also someone who had escaped to Florida from Cuba. He made it on his 4th attempt at the age of 15. On a previous attempt, had had dove into the water to help prevent a woman from drowning. The woman was his mother.

His reward was to be cast into a Cuban prison for awhile.

The Cuban community in South Florida knows the difference between Freedom and the illusion thereof.

Most of those who have made it across the Florida Straits, consigning themselves to the mercy of the sun and the sea on flimsy, makeshift boats and rafts, can tell you of many friends and relatives who didn't make it.

I've heard that the chances leaving Cuba and making it to dry land in the US (Florida) are about 50/50. Can you imagine risking your life on what amounts to a coin toss? How bad do things have to be before you're willing to try that?

Fools like Noam Chomsky and his Leftist ilk (who idolize the Castro Regime and its murderous "revolution") will never understand what it's like for the common people of Cuba.

Let me tell you, people don't risk their life on a 50/50 coin toss if the place they're living in is worth a damn.

I'll never forgive the ignorant pigs who speak so glowingly of Castro. For every rosy comment they make about Cuba from their comfortable American locales, there are a hundred horror stories of oppression, imprisonment, and murder from refugees who know the reality of Tyranny in Castro's Cuba.

I've personally heard dozens of anecdotes from many of them; tales of woe which leave no doubt as to the vicious evil that Castro's revolution still represents.

Like I said, about half the people who try to cross to Freedom don't make it. Their willingness to still make repeated attempts should tell any thinking person everything they need to know about the government of Cuba.

I spit on Castro and all of his blind apologists.

Vote Trump!

David Ortiz told the Rays not to honor his retirement because of his friend. The Rays did honor him privately.

I have an inflatable boat with a 55 horsepower outboard...my parents told me not to be in it after 9 pm... I love fishing, but I fish from shore... after 9.

Yes it was his last game. In a snappy 2 hour 11 minute game he got his average of 12 k's.

I have a lot of respect for the cubans who leave Cuna. They take tremendous risks to be free. During the 12 years or so that I had the honor to serve in a couple Jacksonville, FL P-3 squadrons we fairly routinely kept a look out for rafts and boats in the Florida Straits. These folks would throw together the most outlandish, unseaworthy, cobbled together rafts and pack sometimes dozens of their family members and others and set off across the straits, often without power. We would report their positions and silently wish them well. Never knew whether they made it dry-foot or not. During the Mariel boat lift it was like that 24/7 for a couple of weeks.

Roark has a really fast work rate. He’s a great gutsy pitcher. It’s a shame the Nats will never get to have a chance to compete against Fernandez and hopefully even up the record some—10 appearances, 7-0 against the Nats. He just killed them.
