Let’s not beat around the bush: Windows 10 is wonderful. It’s head-and-shoulders better than Windows 8.1, at least for traditional PC users. The fact that it banishes full-screen apps and the Metro Start screen, focusing instead on the tried-and-true desktop, should be reason enough to make PC purists smile. The massive Windows 10 Anniversary Update released on August 2, 2016, added even more features, functionality, and polish.
The obvious desktop improvements are just the tip of the iceberg, though. If you’re fresh to Windows 10, these are the cool new features you’ll want to check out first.

You could try Mozilla Firefox. Been using it probably since it first came out ( At least 10 years)approximately. Never had a problem, it’s not Goog, lets you put add-ons easily, lets you block history, doesn’t collect your private info. Is fast and efficient. Just love it. Probably @ Mozilla.org. (Non- profit corp). (Watch their video after installation.)
I must have discovered it here about 14 years ago.
I have 7, 8, and 10 that I use regularly. My preference is definitely 7.
I use explorer on mine it is still on the computer I just made a shortcut and pinned it to the task bar.

Sounds great, although I'm not sure the Religion Moderator would approve. Of course, there's gotta be a similar provision allowed for Swordmaker's Apple threads too! Have to show religious tolerance all around. And let's not forget Linux penguins need love too. :-)
Im not sure why on has to feel they have to present “boh sides” for not a moral issue, but a private company product.
If you like it, promote it. If you don’t, put,out the negatives. If you like the compay and how it does business, say that. If you don’t like how they operate, state that. You dont have to give the other side you don’t agree with.
And if you want to just list pros and cons of something, do that - but do it as a single,post to keep it all together in one thread.

On FR as I scan the threads, any that call for a longer look, I click “Share” and email it to myself. I did that with this one. If there are ANY redeeming features to Win 10; I want to know about them, cuz I’m stuck with it on my new laptop.

Internet Explorer should be a selection option.
I have added IE to my task bar.
go to:
c:\program files\Internet Explorer
find “iexplore.exe” (or “iexplore” - by default, the file types are not displayed.)
right click on it
select: “pin to taskbar”.

I have a W10, rarely use it. But that's just creepy.
Next move I make will be to Apple. This whole thread of reasons could bring that day closer.

Thing is, I'm the one with the Windows Ping List so I do feel a responsibility to the 100+ folks on it who want to hear about Windows (and Microsoft) topics. And lately it really has been pretty tough to avoid a lot of warnings and problems -- Win10 did not have a trouble-free first year by any means.
My posting this bunch of positive stuff is very faintly tongue-in-cheek, because I was prompted to do so by a feisty exchange that chris37 and I had the other night. I credit him (I assume it's a him, if that's not true, chris37, sorry about that) with giving me a reason to balance the scales a little in the interests of not just fairness, but information. People can use positive info just as much as warnings.
To hell with the snowflakes... I'm not really watching out for anyone's feelings. This is more about helping people cope with technology, from all sides.

5. Virtual desktops. I have been doing virtual desktops since Windows 3.0. Of course, it is due to external programs — freeware and payware.
6-7-8-9-10 Cute, but not particularly useful.

Bring back a classic theme resembling XP/Win7 and I might try it again. Get rid of the horrendous ribbon menuing.
Get back to programming for users who are more interested in productivity than more glitz and glitter.

Tried "Classic Shell"? It's not a complete reversion to XP/7 but it's a great step. It saved my sanity. See comment#10 above.
