Milky Way had a blowout bash 6 million years ago
Science Daily ^ | August 29, 2016 | Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics

The center of the Milky Way galaxy is currently a quiet place where a supermassive black hole slumbers, only occasionally slurping small sips of hydrogen gas. But it wasn't always this way.

A new study shows that 6 million years ago, when the first human ancestors known as hominins walked the Earth, our galaxy's core blazed forth furiously. The evidence for this active phase came from a search for the galaxy's missing mass.

Manufacturing monoliths (to jump-start intelligent species) is very energy-consuming.

Missing mass? The Clinton’s probably stole it to give it to their rich buddies.

If dark matter couples to gravity, why aren’t there examples of it crashing into ordinary matter?

Dipstick theory.

6 million years is a blip in the life of stars and galaxies.

The scientists have accurately, or conveniently, given it properties such that:

1. It doesn't interact very well with normal matter, and

2. It's distributed around the outside of galaxies so as not to cause people to wonder why all of our orbital calculations remain correct even after the discovery of all that dark matter.

They are hoping to create dark matter at CERN. Also, there are people building dark matter detectors that I believe are similarly constructed to neutrino detectors; another bunch of particles that don't interact very much with other forms of matter.

The super-massive black hole at the center of our MW galaxy is 26,000 light-years from here, ONE light-year being the *distance* light travels in a year at its speed of 186,000 milers per SECOND. One L.Y. works out to about 5.9 TRILLION miles.

Alex, I’ll take inner-planatory space theorems for ,$200.

And I’ll take global warming for a daily double of $20,000.

If the candy bar had proportionally as many nuts in it as just our part of the galaxy does, it might be an ok snack. JMHO.
