I told one friend that I thought there were similarities between Cruz and Benedict Arnold. Man, was he pissed. I really didn’t mean to offend him, I was really taking about wanting personal recognition and gain over selfless service. I didn’t know he would take it so hard. He really seems to hate Trump. Anyway, yes, it seems to have affected things.
I haven’t lost friends. I am, however, VERY careful what I say at church. I’m well aware of the presence of a few bleeding hearts and those who just plain hate anyone who has done well financially. Sad that the green monster of covetousness is so alive and well in the Body of Christ.
I don’t truly hate anyone, and hope to build on that. Having said that, when Bill Clinton was elected for office the first time I was in training as a physician. One of the people I knew well and considered a good friend told me ‘Hillary is going to get you’ - referring to her appointment as the ‘health care reform’ person. I came from a blue collar family, was the first in my family to even go to college, and here is the person, my supposed friend, telling me that their person, Hillary, was going to ‘get me’. For what? For what crime? I didn’t have money. I’d worked manual labor jobs during summers to help pay my way, and was moonlighting to pay off my student debt. Nonetheless, this ‘friend’ wanted me to be ‘put in my place’ by Hillary. This was one of my first experiences with liberal resentment and hatred. Friends don’t want your life to be screwed over by politicians.
They have bought the mass media idea that Trump is Hitler. They totally believe it. I do plan on ridiculing that idea, but there is no way I am going to disabuse them of all the left-stupidity about Trump.
Maybe not, but Trump has a way of ousting those who adhere to political correctness. Closet Lefties.
No, I don’t pick friends who would vote for Hellary.
Communists (some try to call them liberals) fundamentally hate everything I stand for - individualism, freedom, liberty, believe in God, limited government, integrity, duty, honor.
I simply cannot see how a communist, who loathes everything I stand for, could be my friend, in any sense of the word. So, I have no commie friends. Some acquaintances, but never a friend.
When a family member professes loyalty the commie ideals, I avoid all future contact with them. They are working against me in every sense of the meaning of the word. I will not tolerate their presence, since they hate me.
I will not willing be in a position to have a “friend” go Judas on me when the time comes.

Lost a few friends but not many. Most of the libs deleted me years ago on FB. My office is 100% Trump but I live in Louisiana. Although I was originally for Cruz I’ve deleted 3 of them who wouldn’t let it go.
Who have lives in the toss up states? I live in a pro-Trump echo chamber. Some of your comments regarding coworkers and family concern me. I was wondering if you just live in a blue state we would never win anyway.
I have no liberal friends. I dumped them all during Bill Clinton’s reign of terror in the ‘90s. Have not seen an ex-friend liberal in that long. I simply cannot stomach their hypocrisy, lies, spin, and excuses.
I have no liberal friends goingbon 20 years. One of these was from grade school and was among the worst of rabid liberal enablers. A real head case.
I speak about trump only with people who are informed. Those who do not like trump are misinformed or uninformed. The misinformed are certain that liking trump is a moral issue. They believe that to support trump is pure evil. The uninformed are uninformed.
Both groups vote when they are morally obligated to not vote for being ignorant
Neither group wants to know what I think, even if they ask me.
I know two people willing to admit that what goes on with the democrats is so beyond anything compatible with maintaining a free country that to not get trump in is the end of our future in biblical proportions. I’ll talk to them about trump.

So how many of you out there have had a similar experience or experiences with friends, co-workers, and family over this election, and have you had to re-assess friendships and relationships because of it???

And I can accept if someone doesn’t like Trump.
But when someone reveals themselves to be totally ok with a candidate that is a proven serial liar, corrupt, misogynist, downright crook - whose husband is a rapist! - someone to be president of the US when others go to prison for such things - if someone is honestly supportive of that - why would I want to be friends with that?

People that I respected called me a RACIST for daring to speak the truth about Obama, and what he intended to do.
Now that time has proven almost everything I said about him, his policies, and the Democrats has been proven to be right, those people get very sheepish around me, not wanting to talk about politics AT ALL, though there are some who still swallow the propaganda lines, no matter how much MediaMatters changes them, day after day.
If Trump loses, there is no reason to stay in the United States. I’m looking at Spain. Tons and tons of American ex pats in select cities and villages and you can actually live on your social security.
I've been fortunate to have talked a fair amount of Cruz supporter friends (real friends, not just on FR) off the ledge, one who even once told me she would consider voting for Hillary because there was no difference.
I said some strongly worded things to her, about how that wasn't true, explaining why. I think she was hoodwinked by Cruz. No other way I can explain that when somebody supposedly from the right tells me there is no difference.
Well, my words must have stuck with her. We went out with them on our boat the day after the Cruz speech to the convention, and I was expecting her to talk about how great the Cruz speech was. Not only did she not say that, she was angry at Cruz beyond anything I've seen in a long time.
She's 100% pro Trump now. Hates Cruz for what he did.
I don’t keep up with my old college friends anymore. Most are leftist to the point of being communists. Once we got into a shooting war with Islam, I considered them to be traitors.
I don’t have any Democrat friends. I rooted them out long ago. Anybody with a “D” after their name is the enemy.
