Red Swastika.

My dad is still pissed at the Red Cross for trying to sell him cigarettes that were clearly marked “not for re-sale” coming off the combat line in Korea.

He hates them still...and when he became an executive in a large corporation, and they wanted hand outs, he made it clear to them why they’d never see a penny.

When my grandad was in the air force helping flood victims the RC had wagons out selling coffee and donuts. Salvation Army girls were staggering over mud and silt to bring them coffee and sandwiches for free. He hates the RC to this day.

The Red Cross can be as asinine as the federal government. Yet there is not enough information to jump to a condemnation. Might be food safety and sanitation reasons or just somebody on a power trip.

Red Cross is worthless. My wife worked for them for a while. What a crooked bunch they are.

Of course. It’s hard for Red Cross senior executives to get a cut of hot meals cooked on the spot.

The Salvation Army must be there. That’s where I’d go if I needed help.

Here’s the story in a Red Cross response story on the news. The Red Cross said that they would “still prefer money to be sent”. Hmmmm....

Red Cross is only interested in money, that they can use for the organization and its executives. The government should have no affiliation with them. I sure don’t.

My father told a similar story about being in the Army Air Corps in WW2; to his dying day, he never supported the Red Cross because of it.

Same thing in southern Illinois during floods in the 1950s. Ten cents for a cup of coffee from the kids helping sandbag the levees.

When I was in high school back in the 80’s, I came home all proud I had donated blood to the Red Cross. I got in trouble. I got to hear the Korea stories then too. (Didn’t really get “in trouble”, just told to not donate blood to them, that we would buy it if we needed it).

Same here when I first started after college. I would rather stick my face up Moochelle obama’as ugly fat ass than work there. They’re supposed to help people but they’re as corrupt as the UN. I saw it firsthand.

Dear wkuh,

For an emergency flight home from Thailand, i had to get money from the Red Cross. This was 1972, and they were charging usury of 24%!!

After that, no more.
