Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti acknowledged Saturday that the results of November’s U.S. presidential election could weigh heavily on his city’s chances of hosting the 2024 Olympics, saying that a victory by Donald Trump could turn off IOC voters.
In an exclusive interview with The Associated Press, Garcetti also said Los Angeles could offer “the last, best hope” for the United States to host the Summer Olympics again before the American people begin “tuning out” from the games.
Garcetti, a 45-year-old Democrat and supporter of Hillary Clinton, is in Brazil to observe the Rio de Janeiro Games and pitch his city’s bid to members of the International Olympic Committee. One of the main topics of conversation with IOC delegates has been the U.S. election — and the prospects of a Trump presidency. …

In Tucson many Christian aid societies are giving a helping hand; but the homeless like their urban camping in the arroyos, hassling businesses where they panhandle, and occasionally being the tools of the Occupy Wall Street demonstration.

I think an awful lot of people, as they have awakened to the evil NWO globalist neo-pagan agenda, have recognized that the Olympics come right out of that milieu. One world government, one world religion, etc., etc.
The Olympics are evil. More and more people feel it in their gut.
I hadn’t thought much about it before, but now that you mention it, I do believe you are correct.
Well, since Trump would not be president in 2024 I don’t see why this would be an issue. No one could even guess who’d be president then, but you could be sure that it would NOT be whoever wins this november, unless you had a totally weird Chester Allen Arthur thing going on. (Was it him?) And that’s unlikely. And still, who cares?

I saw a VERY interesting documentary about the 1936 Berlin Olympics. It seems, from the documentary, that many Olympic customs that we take for granted today were initiated by Hitler, who wanted to use the Berlin Olympics as propaganda showing off his regime in Germany. Here are just a few of the “innovations” that have become standard procedure:
Building a whole “Olympic Village” with grandiose architecture which has stadiums, venues, sleeping quarters for the participants, and ends up being not much use after the Games are done.
The long journey of the Olympic Torch from Greece, and a handsome runner charging up a grandiose flight of stairs to light up a big flame, torch, or cauldron in front of everybody.
The Opening ceremonies with the parade of athletes, each passing in review, grouped by their country of origin.
These are not customs from Ancient Greece, they are from Nazi Germany.
Since then, Germany has had a checkered Olympic past, with East German female swimmers looking suspiciously like men, and the terror attack on the Israeli athletes in Munich.
I still love to see America win the gold, but I don’t have any illusions about the politicization of the Olympic Games.
