A substitute teacher accused of having sex with a student is blaming education officials for her illegal indiscretions — claiming they failed to stop her, and “allowed” the relationship to blossom.
In a series of interviews with reporters in Iowa, 24-year-old Mary Beth Haglin admitted to having sex with a 17-year-old boy for much of the 2015-16 academic year — and accused Cedar Rapids Community School District of complicity.
“These people all knew what was going on, and yet they turned a blind eye because they wanted to protect their school. They didn’t want it to get into the limelight,” Haglin told KGAN-TV, saying she first had sex with the boy last October. “They allowed this to happen. They knew in February.”
Haglin, a sub at George Washington HS, was arrested on Friday and booked for sexual exploitation of a minor. (snip)
Haglin waffled between blaming school officials and herself for the ugly mess.

"Hit it and quit it" is bad advice for any kid to be hear. Exploitative sex is not even user-friendly--- and it's wrong even if it is mutual.
My guess is that they are not going for "chess club" nerds, but for varsity athletes. That caliber of guy their own age probably has better choices.

I’m sure the prosecutor will enjoy reading these comments back to the judge at her sentencing hearing. By then she will be claiming remorse and these comments will come back to haunt her. The first rule of getting arrested is STFU. Nothing you can say will make it better and will almost always make it worse.

I have always had the theory. That these attractive women never emotionally grew up. I believe they experienced their best times in school.... and that is where they stayed. Almost always a hottie. Also when it is a male teacher/female student thing it is often a PE coach. I believe the same theory fits. A good athlete who’s glory days were in high school...

I’m 63 years old and I still have fond memories of my 10th Grade English Teacher as I’m sure many of my fellow Students in her Class do to this day.
There was something about Mrs. Ashmore.
