A 29-year-old man is accused of holding a gun to his girlfriend's head while she breastfed their 2-week-old baby, deputies said.
The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office responded at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday to a home.
Deputies said the 22-year-old victim was breastfeeding her infant when Kevin Smith came into the bedroom, upset because she was feeding the infant breast milk from another woman.
Smith tried to take the infant away from the victim, who wouldn't give the baby to him, deputies said. Smith held the victim down on the bed and held a gun to her head and against her mouth, deputies said.
The victim's mother arrived at the home and heard screaming. Deputies said the mother saw Smith on top of her daughter, trying to roll her over so he could get the baby.
Smith went outside to his truck. The victim's mother told deputies that she took her daughter and the baby outside and put them in her husband's truck.
Smith was arrested and charged with battery, child neglect and obstructing justice.
I mean (ahem) "dialogue".
If you are not sane enough to own a gun maybe you are not sane enough to be out on the streets.
Absolutely, but just imagine what might happen if either of us knew what she was talking about.
I think the gun was breastfeeding.
// Honest to Pete, is it something in the Florida water? The weirdest of weird stories are always Florida. //
Come on over, the water’s fine!
“Head” is the closest noun, but that makes no sense. Even more no sense than the other choices.
A panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air.
"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife annual and tosses it over his shoulder.
"I'm a panda," he says, at the door. "Look it up."
The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.
Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves.

So guys can breastfeed? That’s what it says.
Shoots and Leaves... that was good enough to earn a post on my FB page... facebook.com/dr.don777
No, the Mother of the GF, put her and the baby in Mother’s husbands truck.
Thanks, been told but it sure was a convoluted way of writing that.
The part that really mystified me was:
“Deputies said the mother saw Smith on top of her daughter, trying to roll her over so he could get the baby.”
Huh? So the baby was UNDER the daughter?
Probably written by an intern in first year journalism school.
Dangling clauses are a hobgoblin of liberal journalists' minds and in general indicative of a flawed ability to formulate coherent ideas and connect related groups of ideas.
But we already know that. We are badly in need of journalists who didn't pick the profession merely because they wanted to make the world a better place or more commonly because they couldn't produce anything of value aother than deliberate misinterpretations and fabrications.

Very confusing. If she was feeding the child milk from another woman, then she was bottle feeding not breast feeding.
I never implied she was on drugs at all. The headline writer needs remedial lessons on proper usage and context of our language.
Well, either she was using donated milk or he’s so crazy that he thought she was breastfeeding and another woman’s milk was coming out. Crazy needs to be locked up forever or put out of everyone else’s misery.
Weird that a mature man would still be breastfeeding. I guess his girfriend didn’t want to feed him so he put a gun to her head and said put out mama!
