Cops in Florida shot and wounded an African-American behavioral therapist lying in the street with his hands raised next to a troubled autistic man whom he was trying to help, according to the victim’s account and a disturbing video of the incident.

Charles Kinsey can be seen and heard pleading with the North Miami officers that their weapons were not necessary, and that the autistic man was carrying only a toy truck, according to WSVN-TV.

“When I went to the ground, I’m going to the ground just like this here with my hands up,” Kinsey told the station from his hospital bed, where he was recovering from a wound to his leg.

“I’m telling them again, ‘Sir, there is no need for firearms. I’m unarmed, he’s an autistic guy. He got a toy truck in his hand.’ ”

Worse. It looks like he was aiming at the autistic man and accidentally shot the therapist.

"Cop will be disciplined."

Bullsh!t. Tradition dictates that the shooter will be put on paid leave, and an INTERNAL, (Read CYA.), investigation will exonerate the trigger man.

Even if there are questions, the local DA will do a Comey, and choose not to prosecute, since he has to depend on the local cop shop to keep his conviction numbers up. Otherwise, he will never get to be the state AG, and then Guv, and then Prez.

The cops have a PR problem, and there is too much precedent to casually deny it, or to hide behind the BLM goons.

It's nothing personal, but after this last year of lies, it's getting harder to go back to the Status Quo.

All the support for the police, all the outrage over the shootings of officers these past two weeks, is undone in seconds by one stupid flatfoot. If what appears to have happened turns out to be true, this fool has to be fired and prosecuted.

“I don’t know” why I shot you? Unbelievable!

Warning to cops. In a tense situation you block your reasoning powers. Your survival instincts dominate. Can you let just a little bit of your rational nature peek through? Can you, for just a brief moment, become aware of the situation as it really is, and not as your adrenaline-overloaded brain makes it out to be?

The problem in this case is the idiot who called the police and said that the kid had a gun. What the hell is wrong with that person? It saw a metallic object in the kid’s hands and thought “gun”?

Some individuals have such an inordinate fear of guns that they see guns where there are none.

What you said is correct. It’s a very serious screw-up - shooting this innocent man, if the account is correct. We never know anymore until there is an investigation.

Cops aren’t perfect. Mistakes happen.

We're not talking about a 'mistake'. We're talking about assault with a deadly weapon.

" And I’m saying, ‘Sir, why did you shoot me?’ and his words to me, he said, ‘I don’t know.’ ”"

Great. If true, another cop on edge who fired too quickly? What ever happened to their training with tazers and batons?
More ammunition (pun intended) for BLM.

ALL that matters is that the officer got to go home that night.

A wounded/dead ‘civilian’? well, you everyone’s a little edge /s

Because everyone you meet on the street tells the absolute and accurate truth. The cops should have just listened to this fellow whom they've never met. They can trust his judgement and his honesty!!!!

People on the street *never* lie.

The 911 caller said a gun was involved. He (she) should go to jail.

If I handled “classified” the way Hillary Clinton does, I’d be in prison.

If I handled firearms the way this cop does, I’d be in prison.

Meh, someone not obeying an order doesn’t give the cops the right to shoot them. They still need to be in imminent fear of death or bodily harm to escalate to that level, and you can’t make that case when the guy was on his back with his hands in the air.

“There’s no vast conspiracy involved. It’s just people screw up.”

Except when you or I screw up to this level, we end up in jail. When a cop or Hillary Clinton does it, they tend to skate.

Even if they didn’t trust him, they still had no cause to shoot him.

I just watched the video. There is NO excuse for this shooting. The caretaker had his hands in the air while on his back throughout the encounter, as the autistic man was fiddling with something didn’t look anything like a weapon. The cop needs to be fired and prosecuted for numerous charges.
