Ted Cruz would run in 2020 even if Trump is president, RNC official says

CLEVELAND — For the first time in 36 years, there was a vote on the floor of a party’s nominating convention this past Monday that actually held an element of suspense.

In the hour or so ahead of a vote in which insurgents were attempting to reset the convention rules, Republican National Committee operatives circulated the floor and the back halls of Quicken Loans Arena, buttonholing delegates to argue why they should retract support for the motion, and getting them to sign their names to withdrawal forms. Trump aides, by contrast, bullied delegates with vague and ineffective threats.

In one corner of the arena floor, near CNN’s broadcast booth, delegates from the District of Columbia listened to appeals from high-ranking RNC officials.

The RNC’s argument to the D.C. delegates boiled down to this: A vote for the rules reset would open the door to Ted Cruz becoming the GOP’s nominee four years from now.

Hmmm. 2006 rings a bell...

iThenticate CEO John Barrie: "we caught the speechwriter for Hillary Clinton plagiarizing"

Anchor: "And with us now is the president and CEO of the firm called iThenticate. Thank you for being with us tonight..."When the [New York] Post asks you to go after Ann Coulter, did you know what were you getting into there?"

Barrie: "Well, this is what happened. The Post came to us originally and they were doing a story about how Oprah Winfrey was using our technology to screen things for her show. And the Post wanted to see an example of how our technology worked. So they took a 2005 speech from Hillary Clinton and ran it through our service. And right off the bat, we caught the speechwriter for Hillary Clinton plagiarizing. And the journalist from the Post said what else can we run through your service? And a couple weeks later as the brouhaha about Ann Coulter and what she said about the 9-11 widows was reaching its peak, the New York Post called me back and said Ann Coulter's book "Godless" is what we want to run through your system. They digitized the book and took one year of her syndicated columns and sent it over to us to analyze."

My vote for Cruz for his Senate seat was my first vote as a new Texan...if he doesn’t get his mind right and fervently endorse Trump tonight he won’t get another from me.

That is true, I think Trump might not decide to run for a second term.

Shoot, he was pimpin’ Cruz as the eventual nominee not even 2 months ago.

Hey, he got the zot just a week ago, for stirring up a Cruz vs Trump fight on a thread. Ain't the first time, either.

We'll see how long Mr. Bundler lasts this time. He's already cruzin' for a bruisin'.

“If Trump wins, you better bet your @ss Cruz is going to primary him,” the RNC official told Yahoo News.

Trump V Cruz worked so well for Cruz the first time...

Any previous candidate that signed off on the support the nominee and then didn’t has absolutely no shot.

Oh I don’t treat..I don’t have to...

All that time, you fought with everyone on here about St. Ted and you were as wrong then as you are now...

So because MY candidate is the nominee and I have been working on his campaign, I will continue to do so to make sure Hillary doesn’t win....or all of that support you denied Trump, will be gone and so will St. Ted, because that woman, if that is what you want to call her, will have no more use for him than you!!!

I kept the info on the thread that JimRob pulled back in May. Didn’t surprise me one bit. It was May 22 - like I said, not even 2 months have passed.

There indeed will be no Republican President ever again, because the system will be so gamed a Republican winning would just be a Democrat in reality.

“he has proven without a doubt that he *HAS NO HONOR*,”

That was going to be my next point, but you made it. Ted thinks nothing about breaking a pledge made on national TV to support the nominee. If you didn’t think he was a liar before Trump won, you know for certain now that his word means nothing.

The country has been seriously altered by NPR, NEA, MSM, Hollywood, and yes, I include the garbage called “rap” in there, too.

Windflier is too busy “setting other Freepers straight” to “bet on the results” of a senate election in Texas in 2018.

You seem to be unaware of Freeper etiquette. Ping someone if you're going to mention them in a post.

If you want to play the child's game of placing bets on an anonymous internet forum, be my guest. Just makes you look like a puffed up keyboard warrior.

“Suppose {shudder} Trump loses and Hillary wins.

I seriously doubt there will be an election in 2020.”

Sure there will be an election, and Democrats won’t have to cheat with 20 million newly legalized “citizens” to vote for them.

I just don’t believe in throwing the baby out with the bath water. Besides, with the possible exception of Ben Carson, the final tier of Republican candidates all behaved badly at times.

So he fully set on challenging an incumbent President from his own party in 4 years, regardless of whether or not that President is doing well? He is certifiable.
