Was watching a DVD of "The Spirit of St. Louis" when I realized that it was about when America was great. Lindbergh showed what one determined person can do when not hamstrung by the government. I know he supported Hitler but he recanted of that.
Plus he is played by Jimmy Stuart another aviation hero.
Feel free to add your own examples of American greatness.
He may have recanted his affection for the Nazis but Lindbergh was in later years an environmental case with utter contempt for humanity. Just sayin’.

A little-known fact: After Pearl Harbor was bombed, Lindbergh volunteered, but he was rejected due to his Nazi-sympathizer past.
So Lindbergh got himself a job as a civilian technical adviser for United Aircraft, and was posted to the Pacific Theater. In that capacity, he flew 50 combat missions! As a civilian! And he is crediting with shooting down at least one Japanese aircraft.
Yep, Lindbergh was a great, but very flawed, American.
Winning WWII in four years. Moon landings. SR-71. ICs. Microwave Ovens. Funny Cars.
Lindbergh was an honerary member of the NAzi party, anmd admired Adolf along with Ambassadpr to Britain Joseph Kennedy. It was serious enpough that Lindbergh was not allowed to serve in WWII until near the end of the war, and then only in the Pacific Theater with the Army Air Force

There is not much great about Lindbergh except he did cross the Atlantic in the Spirit of St. Loouis. He was a democrat, a leftist who identified with the Nationalist Socialist policies of the Nazis, and said so publicly. If he were alive today, Lindbergh would love Obama and Hillary
who would fit exactly within Lindbergh’s view of politics as liberal fascists.
Their so called moral superiority and a sense of historic justice justified anything, any conduct, including genocide. And BLM rests squarely with them.
Lindbergh does not symbolize America’s greatness, he symbolizes her future downfall to the likes of him.

The EPA/FAA/DHS would never have let Linbergh make that flight without going through a full environmental impact statement review process and multiple public hearings.
