“There’s no “Blank Space” in Taylor Swift’s bank account.”

There’s always a blank space for the next guy.

“Will she still be popular in 10 or 15 years? “
No, but she will be rich.

Can’t be, radio & tv & concert audiences are down and the public doesn’t buy music anymore.

well, that’s what the suits say at least.

I suspect by then she will have throttled back on her career to raise a family. She'll be 27 this year, her fanbase aging right along with her.

Anyhow, I don't see how she tops 1989. It was truly her towering musical achievement. Every step of her career led up to the release of that album and corresponding tour. There's not really anywhere else to go after that.

Congrats, Taylor Swift.

Lots of great pop music and “I’m a nightmare, dressed like a daydream” is one great lyric in a song of great lyrics...

If anyone could do that it will be Taylor. Keep in mind she's not just a singer\performer. She's writing these hit songs too. Yeah, so I for one, think she'll have as much longevity in the Biz as anyone could.

As a pop star? No.

But she is smart enough to re-invent herself or go into a similar line of work (movies? Directing? Media?). So far she's been well-advised, and well-raised enough not to have made an ass of herself as Miley Cyrus or Justin Bieber.

When she was younger and was singing country music she was advised to hold on to her music rights. So every song that she writes she has the publishing rights to them. That is smart advice for a 16 year old, but 10 years later it is reaping benefits that many other musicians will never see. She is smart because she realized that if this holds true for music rights, it also holds true for imaging rights. I venture to say that twenty years down the road she will make Oprah and Madonna look like paupers.

Taylor before and after.

Taylor compared to the girl in the purple bikini. Purple wins.

Swift’s saccharine bubble gum music constantly plays on the Muzak at work. I liken it to those earwigs that eat into your brain.
