“still horribly suffering the ills of 400 years of slavery. Poppycock.”
Poppycock indeed. First slaves came as indentured servants in 1620. Emancipation proclamation, which freed slaves in southern states (only) was in 1862. I’m no math whizz, but I figure 242 years. Not accepting the “400 years” BS.
Most racist place I’ve ever been was Boston.
Her three examples come from before 1930. And it is certainly true that there were racists in the north. When my Mom was growing up in rural Indiana, it was illegal for a black man to stay overnight in the county. That law changed in her teens.
No idea what that is supposed to mean for 2016, though...other than to some blacks, there is a grievance everywhere.
But since a white guy is far more likely to be killed in a black neighborhood than a black guy in a white one, perhaps she ought to look in the mirror to see the face of racism!
IOW, Not Enough Free Stuff. Not Enough 50-50 Race Casting of Movies.
The “famous actress” has all of six acting credits on IMDb.
They must be racist. As with SAT tests, black actors should get 10 acting credits for every acting credit they earn.
We see
what we
we expect
to see
If you have to say “famous actress” then she’s probably not famous
The most prominent racist region in the U.S. is the south. Mostly, people tend to refer all racist activities to the south but Ramsey during an episode of MTVs Decoded expressed a more strict opinion, Racism is a problem in the Northern and Western states too. And it always has been.
Having lived in the south moat of life 46 years, I call bull. Maybe it’s because I live in Houston, and have family and traveled theough Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida, as well as Arizona and New Mexico and California, but overt racism is not something I experienced until I visited Chicago, St. Louis and New York.
All three enriched themselves by hurting black/white relations.
Everyone needs to dump their stocks in the racism industry before Trump wins in November.
Never heard of Franchesca Ramsey. My first thought was the Nanny, Fran Drescher (sp).
Famous?????? I am relatively up to date on Hollywood and never heard of this chick.
No one tries to argue on this topic.
I do not know exactly who is she, i mean her political views. But i agree with the main idea of the article: the MYTH that liberals and politicians from Western states are tolerant, while most southerners are still racist slaveholders is still a MYTH.
But agree, racism has come to full flower under his presidency.
May be, Canada. But i think she comes back soon cause life there is too blah.
You know, Reverse racism is racism too.
“Reverse racism is a phenomenon in which discrimination, sometimes officially sanctioned, against a dominant or formerly dominant racial or other group representative of the majority in a particular society takes place, for a variety of reasons, often initially as an attempt at redressing past wrongs.”
To tell the truth, i haven’t heard about her before. But i liked the main idea of the article.
May be we haven’t heard about her before cause she never used her private e-mail host for governmental issues?
I’m speaking to the ongoing perpetuation of the myth that skin color-based victimization is tantamount to the victimization (discrimination, hate, prejudice, bigotry, cruelty, etc.) of truly innocent human beings with crippling birth defects.
