Wait. Wtf?!? The author goes from describing delicious delicacies to describing crap in same sentence. Terrible writing. I can't imagine a more horrific way begin a culinary article. Disgusting.
Colombia deserves better than that. Total turn off...

Yes sir, me too. That set me off something fierce. Just a terrible way to start off an article on a culinary experience.

I've been through some 20 cities in Cundinamarca and while it is a lovely country full of wonderful people, it can be a real stretch to find suitable accommodations in the remote areas.
Perhaps better to avoid some of that "fiber".

Some of my fondest memories from numerous vacations to Honduras was sitting outside at a small beach resort for breakfast and having a plate of fresh picked papaya, fresh pineapple, fresh some other kind of fruit, fresh eggs, freshly made re-fried beans, and mantakia (sp?) cheese......
Everything is always fresh there.....

Colombia?
If I can’t smoke it, I don’t want it.

I’m one of the 500,000! One of my favorite fruits of all time. The look like small, black grapes, grow on the truncks of the tree. It has a wonderful, white, sweet pulp. My mom used to make jelly out of them. Hard to describe flavor...citrussy, ripe plum flavor..lived in Brazil during my youth...

This is truly one of the strangest things Ive read since Carlos Castenada or the script of the movie Popeye. There have to be powerful drugs involved here somewhere. You did a web search on the author, didn't you? He's a major advocate of psychedelic mushrooms and marijuana.

Except maybe for bananas this country grows all the fruits and vegetables that I have any use for.Our farmers, ranchers and orchard growers are the finest in the world.

Peyote and Indian religious practices as well. First book was his PhD thesis. I read the damned books back when I was in grad school...doing some of the same things. Don’t try reading them once you sober up....
