They are, at long last, doing a great service to the nation; sitting on their fat asses doing nothing is what they are best qualified to do. We are all safer so long as they continue to do so.

If the Republicans act like mean mistreaters, the media will fall all over themselves portraying the “protesters” as martyrs, giving their cause a second wind. Much better to let them sit around advertising their ineffectuality until they slink off one by one.
And a shut-down Congress is a public blessing. To borrow a line from a syrupy song, “Congress does it best when it does nothing at all.”
