A London-based advocacy group said Monday it documented 185 killings of environmental activists around the world last year, nearly 60 percent more than in 2014 and the highest since it began collecting data dating back to 2002.
In a newly released report, Global Witness said Brazil topped the 16-country list with 50 environmental defenders slain in 2015, followed by the Philippines with 33 and Colombia with 26. The group says 116 were slain worldwide in 2014.

It is all about relativism. Try to make Christians as bad as Moozlimbs. Same with Pro-life folks, Pro-gun, and militia members, to name a few.
Despite the fact that 90+% of terrorist attacks are committed by...............moozlimbs. Don’t let facts get in the way of a good story.
How many were killed because they were “environmental defenders”, and how many were killed because they were common a’holes?
Darwinism at work would be my guess.
Sounds like they hang out with the wrong crowd. Most are dopers.
The “circular economy” is a leftist term for a theoretical industrial economy that produces no waste or pollution. Such an economy would have to violate the second law of thermodynamics to actually exist.
Why would the Chinese government push this crap? Has the corruption of environmentalism worked into communist countries as well?
And none of the trash were taken out in the US.
I weep for America.
They say that like it’s a bad thing. These people would see every capitalist dead to save their precious Gaia.
Oh, really? Their land? They owned it?
Disco is too still in style.(!)
How could you even think differently?
Environmentalism (especially when phony) is part and parcel of communism. Lenin’s “subbotnik” programs were mandatory unpaid working hours for cleanup of garbage and collecting of recyclables, et al. And of course, Gaylord Nelson got the first Earth Day to be on Lenin’s one hundredth birthday.
I was thinking more along the lines that this company is catering to western “environmentalist” for their easy tax money. Not that they where just trash pick up service. Either way I really don’t care much. you make a good point though.
