“I’d Die Without You” is one of the great love songs in a long time. This guy was talented, very different from his peers.
Never heard of the singer or the group. R.I.P.
Set adrift was another great song.
What’s the average life-span of rappers? About 42?
His music is more R and B. He was very talented.
RIP. They were a God-fearing band as well. Beautiful songs.
RIP.
Never heard of him or the group. I looked up the song but still never heard of it. Couldn’t understand the words so gave it up.
They did that song that sampled Spandau Ballet’s “True”.
I listened to these guys when I was in High School. I NEVER knew he was only a few years older than I was at the time.
Their sound defined melody in the 90s - a time when melody was being read it’s last rights.
Their attention to detail was groundbreaking. They were truly talented at the microphone, keyboards and in the studio (Where just about all black music is actually made.. at the console)
Religious but not about religion, every story told of these guys made them sound like the nicest people out there. And this is likely why they never made a splash.
It’s shame his career sorta ended. I would loved to hear this guy’s art when he was older. As a teenager (He basically was in the first album) his ideas were very mature and belied his age.
46 is too young....
I know this much is true.

Wow, was that really 25 years ago?
