Buying a car or truck built in the USA, by members of the UAW, is a financial contribution to Clinton and other democrat candidates.
The United Auto Workers (UAW) financially support ONLY democrat candidates.
Do you want YOUR money supporting democrats?
At the most you’ll get 50,000 km out of it. Times ten.
Up until LASIK, my vision was 20/400 or something in the neighborhood.
If there were only a fix for colorblindness....
I have another quirk in my eyes that no quack has ever been able to do much about or seemed to care when mentioned.
I was 20/20 till age 46
I have yet to buy a car built by the UAW, and unless they DRASTICALLY change their tune, I expect that policy to continue to my grave.
I will not buy a car built by people that HATE their employer and HATE America. As long as I have a choice, I will buy something else.
That Grand Cherokee is a shared design with Mercedes (M-class and some other SUV, I believe). I considered buying one myself; thought it was far more comfortable than most competing vehicles. I’ve seen a lot of Dodge and Jeep recall notices arrive in my office mail, though - decided not to risk it. The feet manager at work has a new Ram 1500 EcoDiesel on order for the motor pool - fingers crossed.
How much you wanna bet they cut corners too and quality suffered. Probably about the time we bought our car from them. Important point: if they had tried to make it right, we might have continued being customers. Naw, their quality is terrible. Always has been, always will be.
So instead you give that money to Japan, which will not allow American made goods into their country...In the mean time you put 10 times as many non union auto parts supplier workers out of work as you do Union workers...
This year a lot of those union workers are going to vote for Trump...Not too many Japanese will be casting their vote...
I’ll tell you mine. The CVT is all that it’s cracked up to be. Very smooth, very reliable. This is in my Subaru by the way. I’m a big fan.
VW was doing fine until they fought off efforts to unionize their Tennessee plant. Then the governments pulled out a long existing software issue with a performance that rivals the police chief discovering gambling going on in Rick’s establishment in Casablanca.
Love my Chevy Silverado 1500. 118K and zero problems. Best vehicle I have ever owned.
I’ve only driven CVT-equipped cars from Nissan and Subaru. Initial impression was a little disturbing, as if the transmission was slipping. The engine revs right up and the car catches up to it. That feeling went away fairly quickly as I became accustomed to it, though. It’s smoother and quicker to downshift and far less obtrusive than a similar 5 speed automatic would be. Considerable improvement on the gas mileage as well.
Love my Nissan Rogue.
1998 nissan frontier 154,000
2003 nissan maxima 188,000
My next car will be Honda, Toyota or Nissan period.
I just bought a Toyota. My daughter has one and it’s still going strong.
My Subaru has a voracious appetite for brakes and I just plain and simple got tried of feeding it yearly. I loved it otherwise.
And looking at the state of the country, I figured I’d get a new Toyota while my money had any value.
I have many retired UAW friends who do not and will not support a Democrat nominee...........
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
I’m a retired U.A.W. member, 70 years old and never voted for a democrat in my life and know plenty of others.
Donating to any national GOP org is donating to continue RINOS in power, give directly to your candidate. Told that to the IDIOT RNC person who called wanting money yesterday then hung up on her. I don’t think she liked the message.
Agreed man. Buying a new car is nuts. Currently driving a 15 year-old Tacoma, runs great. Bought a 2013 Honda Pilot recently, saved about 12k off a new one. I’ll never buy new again unless I win the lottery...
Buying used doesn’t support the union.
No. My Titan was designed in California, engineered in Michigan and was assembled in Mississippi. The V8 Cummins are built in Indiana and Tennessee.
So, please be informed before you spout off.
MFO
I hear you. I have owned three. I’ve had this one, a 4 runner, for 10+ years. I really don’t like it. There isn’t enough leg or head room and it’s too far off the ground for our 14 year old dog. I wouldn’t mind getting another Toyota, but without the flaws that this one has.
