Cruz to NBC: Trump 'Inappropriate to Attack a Judge's Race or Ethnicity'
NBC News ^ | Jun 6 2016, 5:06 pm ET | NBC News

Posted on 06/06/2016 2:35:52 PM PDT by conservative98

Here's an interesting exchange between NBC News and former Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz that happened just now:

NBC: Donald Trump's remarks about Judge Curiel, are his concerns legitimate?

Cruz: Of course it's inappropriate to be attacking a federal judge's race or ethnicity. You're going to have ask Donald to explain the reason he says the things he does. I'm not going to try to do so.

NBC: Ben Sasse said that what Donald Trump said about the judge is pure definition of racism. Is Donald Trump a racist?

Cruz: As I said, it is obviously inappropriate to attack a judge's race or ethnicity. Beyond that, you're going to have to ask Donald.

NBC: (As Cruz walks away): Last question — Senator, can you fathom though still at this point supporting Donald Trump in November?

(No response -- goes into office)

‘have a free reign.’

Just as an aside, which I hope you won’t mind, the term is: free rein. It refers to a rider letting the reins go slack/ceasing to guide and control the horse, and letting it do whatever it wants. Fwiw.

..... Well ..... If you knew a Judge was a member of the KKK and you were a black defendant ...... do you think that black person should be concerned about getting a fair trial?

Except for the La Raza connection this judge has. Yeah, that makes him an open target.

Will we ever see this Cruz guy say anything favorable about Trump. He’s a sore loser.

Even the judge had to admit he is part of La Raza. There is a reason for that.

Whatever the words, the underpinning of the argument here is that Trump does not believe Justice will be served, but, rather that ‘social justice’ redistribution will be deemed just, facts be damned. In addition, those arguing against Trump come from the place of dissolving the borders and value of citizenship of the United States-in favor of a supposedly borderless, but in fact, a supremacist Latin-American 3rd world point of view and government.

Voting on the TPP after the election would just be the cherry on top to dissolve the US, which that so-called ‘treaty’ does.

Unfortunately, Trump didn't say that about the judge. That's why Cruz, Rubio, and Gingrich are all lining up against him.

Trump suggested a Latino judge might be biased against him because of ethnic bias. This is utterly true 99 percent of the time. Hence why it's no surprise the Judge is a member of a racist Latino nationalist organization when, as a judge, he should have disassociated himself from membership. Minority groups, in general, tend to be biased in favor of other minorities. It's proven over and over again, whether it is in juries in Chicago or elsewhere where only gentrification-- even by liberal hipsters-- increases the conviction rate, or by how they vote, or by the assertions Republicans make that Hispanic candidates will automatically have an edge for the Hispanic vote.

Everybody believes in it, even Supreme Court justices talking about the benefits of being a "wise Latina," but when Trump says what is objectively true, all of a sudden we're all Americans and are not allowed to think in terms of race.

There are no Cruz supporters because the race is over, he has no campaign to support. You Trumpsters better start running a new race.

You Trumpsters

In other words, you're not a Trump supporter. You still pine for that ethnic Latino Ted Cruz who would have done so much better with Latinos than that white racist Donald Trump.

My friend, I thing YOU missed the point. As a citizen, Donald Trump is entitled to constitutional protections ensuring a fair trial. He is entitled, just as you and I are, to question whether the judge is biased against him. He didn't say that he was biased against him simply because he was of Mexican heritage, he was saying that, given his (Trumps) political positions, and the judges political activities, he thinks he is not being given a fair shake. Trump has that right. Here is what Trump said:

In an interview, Mr. Trump said U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel had “an absolute conflict” in presiding over the litigation given that he was “of Mexican heritage” and a member of a Latino lawyers’ association. Mr. Trump said the background of the judge, who was born in Indiana to Mexican immigrants, was relevant because of his campaign stance against illegal immigration and his pledge to seal the southern U.S. border. “I’m building a wall. It’s an inherent conflict of interest,

The judge has been hostile to Trump throughout the proceedings. On the surface, it looks like he has an axe to grind.

Anyone venture a guess as to how this issue might impact the result in November?

Waiting for the lingering Cruz supporters to arrive and defend Cruz in 3 ... 2 ...

He was misquoted.
No wait, that is the socialist Jesuit guy in the Vatican.
Never mind then.
I still like Cruz, but he got on my 'no go' list when he played politics when the Bolshevik thugs planned an attack on Trump in Chicago. Politics is dirty business, but when the Country is under attack (from external or internal enemies), you don't play those games

Bears repeating:

Trump suggested a Latino judge might be biased against him because of ethnic bias. This is utterly true 99 percent of the time.
