I really hope these blacks that posted those Twitter comments were spelling and structuring their phrases that way on purpose because they are black....

If not, that is a supreme example of the illiteracy in our public schools....

No way it was just a few seconds.

You may be right. I wasn’t there.

I read another post in this thread that said, “witnesses said the mother was texting.” I won’t condemn her for that. She may not have been shown the best judgment but she may have felt she had the children in a safe place.

I’ll give them credit for both mother and father taking the children to the zoo. I would also say that they should have done a little better watching their children. However, I won’t condemn them for it.

The parents sound like people that we’re trying to do things the right way. Her comments lead me to believe that they’re people of faith. They made a mistake. It also sounds like they’ve made a lot of mistakes in their past but it also sounds like they’re trying.

Additionally, they both work. They’re trying.

I agree. The zoo should be made to where children cannot climb into a gorilla cage.

And, you’re correct, there will be a lawsuit and the family will receive money from it. The parents didn’t go to the zoo seeking a lawsuit but there will be lawyers encouraging them to file suit. And my guess is that they will.

As I read through the Twitter comments my first thought was they were fake. There were grammatical errors, but far fewer than I'd expect. Plus, too many words, large words, were either spelled out or spelled correctly. That's not a black/white issue, that's a Twitter issue. Most people use it just like texting, i.e. shorthand.

Since, apparently, parents can control their kids so easily, I guess we don’t need low speed limits in neighborhoods.

Parents will tell their kids to stay out of the street and the kids will obey.

The media is so mad at these parents, they may accuse them of being “Donald Trump supporters”, and probably Homophobes too!

Idiot racist blacks. If there are so many well behaved black children why are the prisons so full?

If the zoo was really at fault, you'd expect kids to have been dropping in there like hotcakes.

How long has the exhibit been operational vs how many surprise(d) guests?

Surprisingly the well researched article makes no mention of past issues. < /sarcasm >

My family has been to this Zoo hundreds of times.

Animal habitats are built to keep the animals in primarily.

I bet said parents were on their phones and allowing their brats to run wild. I have witnessed it time after time.

In my part of the state this weekend, a 16 yr old girl driving a car ran over a motorcycle killing one person and injuring another. She was texting.

I hope she goes to prison for a good long time.

Actions have consequences. Examples need to be made of morons.

Shooting the gorilla was the correct thing to do.

Turning off the damned cell phone and keeping a hand on your kid was the correct thing to do. It would have made shooting the gorilla a non-issue.

Hahahaha! You may be joking but I think you are correct. I’ve had the same thought for a long time. There have always been fairy tales using animals as analogs for people (Ugly Duckling, Aesops Fables, etc.), but Disney took it to a whole new level.

Disney has done more to make animals “human” than PETA. Moving pictures can put the mind in neutral and insert all kinds of pre-meditated messages.

I believe in part that it’s because our children are not taught critical thinking skills anymore. They miss the point entirely, and they are now grown and in charge of some things. Instead of taking a story like “Bambi” and applying it to their own behavior (be strong, be brave), they attribute human traits to the characters (dear are strong and brave).

I don’t believe this was Walt’s original motive. I truly believe he was a good man, and hoped to encourage children to learn good values, but after his death, the liberals who followed have figured out how to take this powerful tool for good and use it to promote their perverse agenda.
