Sounds to me that the parents should have been sterilized or put down long before the gorilla emcouter
Then it would be white people’s fault for keeping gorillas in zoos.
I am not going to blast this family. Yes, I know the father has a criminal past but it sounds like he had turned his life around. Unlike so many, these parents were spending time with their children. They were taking them to the zoo. Seems to me that they were trying to do things the right way.
I read some of the posters talking about how they’re such great parents and they never take an eye off their children. I’ve known good parents that have lost children because of horrible events. Things happen. There are no perfect parents. We’re not in 100% control of everything in our lives. Things can change in a split second.
Also, from the article .......
“He insisted barriers were secure, asking: ‘Do you know any four-year-olds? They can climb over anything’”
—
The barriers may have been secure but they should be made to where four year olds cannot climb over them.
These parents may not be the brightest people but I believe they were trying to do things the right way. Yeah, they made a horrible mistake.
We frequently have the holier-than-thous crowd here that thinks that parents should have their kids kept at home in plastic bubbles. I doubt that any of the loudest most self-righteous ones had any kids themselves at all.
Lib Narrative 1: We are products of evolution and the primates are practically people.
Lib Narrative 2: People are a scourge to mother earth, over population and evil humans are hurting all the rest of nature.
Lib Narrative 3: Leftist sexuality narrative people are animals..... It's too gross to continue.
The comments made me laugh...Do you think the comments are real? The English be so bad...
If you leave them alone for a few minutes.
Uh.... I just vetoed my initial comment.
Very funny!
“They kids”...... over, and over, and over again. Geez, learn the language!
I’m in the Cincy area and it’s huge. There was actually a candlelight vigil last night - for the gorilla.
I just don’t get it.
A kid wanders into the street and they charge the parents with neglect. But wandering into a gorilla enclosure, that’s another thing entirely. Right.
Racists! Guess they don't care for the life of a black kid.
If you leave them alone for a few minutes.

It’s just like people texting when driving. All it takes is just a few seconds. Not all people that texts while driving are horrible people. Some just use poor judgement.
Some people don’t do so well controlling their children in restaurants. I don’t like or approve of that but it doesn’t mean I am going to label the parents as horrible people.
In the black community, this family was doing better than 95% of them by taking their children to the zoo. In fact, it’s must better than most white families are doing now days.
Did the kid fall or did they throw him in
Now that IS funny.
No way it was just a few seconds.
Most of the focus seems to be on the parents, but I think the zoo is the most at fault party for providing an unsafe environment for children. The zoo is most at fault for the child almost being killed and the gorilla being killed.
The parents will likely file a lawsuit against the zoo for providing an unsafe environment for families at the zoo. That should result in changes at the zoo that will protect visitors and the animals in the zoo.
What you call “strange” is an ongoing conquest by third world peoples. They quite naturally have different values.
