Do you feel strongly about Harambe, the hapless gorilla executed by Cincinnati zoo to protect the life of the four-year old child Isaiah whose stupid, irresponsible parents allowed him to crawl into the gorilla’s pen?
Well I do too. Especially when you realise – at least by some accounts – that the gorilla was actually trying to protect the child not kill it.
But I don’t think in the outrage stakes any of us can quite compete with the angry black people in social media forums who have been blaming the incident on entrenched white privilege.

I find that my computer locks up on a lot of things and I finally decided it was because too many sites have too much video, pictures and click bait they are trying to load at once.
Yes. It was a female gorilla that took the child back up the the area of their entrance to their cages and protected him from the male gorillas who were getting dangerously close for a peek.
As I recall, the zookeepers somehow managed to get the gorillas back into their cages and got the child out.
IT’s a juvenile male though. Don’t know how much mothering instincts they have. But the kid was probably much safer than with a juvenile chimp. They’re just nasty.

Whatever happened to that leash and harness thing? Somebody came up with an app for an “electronic” leash that apparently doesn’t cut the mustard with either hardwire or aware parents?
I have watched that video several times and I am of the opinion that the gorilla was not going to harm that child.
Now I have seen the release where the Zoo says they could shoot it with a drug to put it out. I don’t know enough on that one. Perhaps if they had been a little more patient they could have thought of something else to get the kid away from it.
Kind of sad.

A big tray with sliced ripe watermelon, mangoes & strawberries would’ve done the trick. Mr. G would have dropped the kid in two seconds flat.
I’d worry about a juvenile male. A mature female, on the other hand, would likely protect the child.
Sounds a lot like human babysitters. :/

In addition to the annoying ads, you might notice that an ever increasing number
of Breitbart’s “stories” are just rehashed aggregation, clickbait and re-blogging.
When they first started they had a high percentage of original reporting and
investigative journalism. Soon they will find their way onto the internet trash
heap right beside “NewsRealBlog” and other relics of the “new media.”
The current powers at Breitbart are doing a major disservice to the memory
of the guy who gave them their start.

The gorilla is capable of killing the child instantly, either intentionally or unintentionally. I would make the call to kill regardless of how innocent the gorilla seemed.
