Around 20 states have chosen open primaries and that is their choice and their right. It saves a great deal of paperwork since multi millions are not forced to change their registrations ahead of a vote.

I’ve read that After being cheated very badly in the past two election cycles, thousands of Colorado republicans dumped their R cards for I cards. Lots of people are fed up with the party and I have no problem with including them in the choice. Without their vote in November, we lose.

Republicans are outnumbered in many key states. We need the Independent vote to win elections. <—reality check.

I’d take an open primary over a crooked caucus. Caucuses are absurd archaic opportunities to cheat. They exclude a great deal of voters and place the decision in the hands of a few party operatives.

I may be mistaken, but it looks like you said that without Independents voting for an (R), we lose. That is true... but not in the general. I don’t believe any general election ballots are closed the way closed party primary ballots are.
