Scratch Sarah from the list: Ben Carson walks back speculation about Palin having a second shot at

Donald Trump and his campaign have walked back comments from endorser Dr. Ben Carson, who said Sunday that Sarah Palin, John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Chris Christie were all under consideration for the presumptive GOP nominee's number-two slot.

Carson, a former rival of Trump's who endorsed him shortly after getting out of the race on March 2, told a Washington Post reporter that all those people – including Palin, the 2008 vice presidential nominee – were on Trump's short list.

Responding to a Morning Consult poll that listed the most palatable veeps to Republican voters, Carson listened to the names and said: 'Those are all people on our list.'

Hours later, though, his boss tried to calm the waters and keep the guessing-game going..

'The @washingtonpost report on potential VP candidates is wrong,' Trump wrote on Twitter. 'Marco Rubio and most others mentioned are NOT under consideration.'

>> It’ll be Gingrich <<

Yep, a 69-year-old WASP guy paired with a 72-year-old WASP guy, both of whom are now on their third wives. Not a double whammy, but a QUADRUPLE whammy. There will be guaranteed success because this choice clearly will:

1. Win the women’s vote.

2. Win the youth vote.

3. Win the black, Asian and Latino votes.

But maybe best of all,

4. It will end the delusional speculation about putting Sarah, Christie and Gentle Ben on the ticket.

What’s not to like?

Sen. Jeff Sessions as Vice President

Why would you put a literal traitor as VP? (Remember the Iran deal.)

I grow weary of this endless Veep speculation already.

Faint not and be refreshed, my cousin. Here, have a seat in the shade away from the roaring anti-Palin FR posters.

I think Dr Carson’s job for the Trump campaign is to go out and spread diversions.

Carson: Very, very smart guy. Nice guy. Period. Politically a full on zero. That’s not meant as an insult. Most pols are full on disgusting pigs. I would 100x rather have a brain surgeon as a friend than 98% of politicians.

I’m weary of all of it. I’d just like to sleep till this crazy election is over with.

Or hide under the bed.

I hope Sarah gets a position in the next administration! She deserves it!

The list is in continuous flux and is based on freeper suggestions (with reasoning.)

With that in mind, who is your suggestion, and why?

A couple of people have made very good points. Carson probably is doing a good job of diversion, and Trump probably has already made his choice, and it will be a surprise to everyone.

Personally, I’m hoping for Newt. Clinton can brag all he wants about how “he” balanced the budget, Newt actually did it, Clinton would have been perfectly happy to keep the political sniping going on so he could blame Republicans for the lack of a budget, instead Newt got the right people together, told them to drop the political squabbles and get to work.

He can do it again, he’s exactly what Trump needs. Someone who knows his way around DC, has a good reputation and is able to get people to work together.

But Trump will probably surprise us all with something we never expected.

I don't think anybody in their right mind thought anyone on that list was seen as a true potential running mate including Palin.

Why would she settle as second banana?

Scratch Ben Carson’s list from the list.

The idea that Ben Carson has a list is a foolish idea indeed.

Easy. Sessions guarantees that Mr. Trump will carry Alabama, and he will probably help in the neighboring state of Mississippi.

now, what EXACTLY is Carson’s job in the Trump organization? I have been trying to follow it. Thought it had something to do with finding a veepee. Then it was as spokesman, yet what was spoken was not so. (and what qualification does a surgeon have in picking veeps?) So I’m confused. Why Carson at all? Does Trump really need him?

I think he’s more or less a groupie. Still not meant as an insult. This political thing is something that entices Carson, I don’t think he is good at it, I think he’s just trying to attach to what he perceives as the winning train. And that’s probably 97% of what all politicians do.

You cannot think for an instant that he’s as skilled a politician as he is a brain surgeon! I think he would make a GREAT surgeon general but I am not completely sure where he sits on 0bamacare. (he may have stated where he stands but I am just unaware of it)

Carson walked by the entire list he mentioned earlier. He said those were ‘examples’ of who might be on the actual list.

==

All supposed leaked lists are wishful thinking and means to influence.

I grow weary of this endless Veep speculation already.

The commies are looking for anything they can find to start a feeding frenzy on Trump's campaign, like they did to Sarah Palin over Labor Day weekend, 2008.

I think Trump is toying with the commies.

It is going to be Christie and was always going to be ever since he endorsed Trump.

He’d be a lovely Sec. of Education (though of course we have no need for a Sec. or Dept. of Education at the federal level at all).

And I don’t mind him being one of the faces of Trump support up through the general election either.

Maybe you’re right.
