The guy who kidnapped her did so because he ‘had a testimony’ (mormon word for good feeling from God) that she was to be his ‘plural wife’ (which is required for godhood/salvation according to their own sacred writings). It was Mormon theology that was behind his beliefs and his action.
You're full of crap. I could name scores of murderers who claimed God told them to do so..........
Using your logic I could successfully make the claim that Christianity was behind more murders than Mormonism......
The j@ck@$$ who kidnapped her wasn’t even a Mormon. They abolished polygamy in 1890. Yeah, there are some tiny fringe groups who still do it but without sanction of mainstream Mormons. Muslims, on the other hand . . .
Interesting. . . But the guy is a psycho. He acts and talks and looks, and probably smells like any other psycho drifter. Maybe he sprinkled Mormon dust on his piracy, but he's a pirate. Most Mormons I know don't act like that or support acting like that, and you didn't hear Mormon elders or whatever clamoring to his defense and pointing to their laws. Did you? I didn't.
Interesting counter-example: If he were a Moslem, we couldn't say any of that. Lots of Moslems live all middle class and suddenly act that way in the name of jihad. Surveys of their populations in the West keep showing 20 percent or more admitting openly that they support it--and pointing to the Koran to justify it.
