I am seeing the same thing from blue collar workers in midwest.

They are NOT interested in:
Social conservative issues.
Wall Street
BLM
Religion of any kind

They ARE interested in:
Securing border
Bringing jobs back to America

Well of course, polls that hint at bad news are always wrong. Just ask Vice President Palin, she’ll tell ya!!

Yeah, sure, that's why in polling Trump is pretty much the most unpopular general election candidate since......well, polling began.

I'm pro-Trump. and like most pro-Trump folks, I'm a bit ornery. So when a polling company calls me, I just hang up. I don't go on and on about how much I love my candidate like, say, a Bernie supporter might do.

Bottom line: Don't trust the polls on this issue.

Damn, I missed the GOP convention.... Did he win on the first ballot?

Did you miss the part of the article I quoted?

But there is zero support for Hillary, and zero support for Cruz. Zero. Nada. None.

The guy to whom I was responding was specifically talking about Cruz and Hillary. Since those were his chosen topics, I just responded regarding those two.

I have said numerous times that Trump would win the election by a far greater margin than would Cruz, but Cruz would also win it.

Trump has my state in his back pocket. As I mentioned earlier, I can detect no support for either Hillary or Cruz among my blue-collar friends.

Trump would win by a larger margin, but my point is that Cruz would still win also. He just wouldn't get as large a margin of a win as would Trump.

Your blue collar friends, when left with a choice between Hillary and Cruz, will very likely prefer Cruz, Especially when our side starts firing our huge stockpile of ammunition against her.

She is a hateful, scandal ridden, conniving, lying, nagging, witch-bitch, and people will realize pretty quickly that the thought of having her as a President will make them gag.

Here is my consideration of Trump v Cruz:

Trump has the cajones during the “the general” to call-out Hillary on the email-server and Benghazi.

Cruz won’t do that.

At this point in 1980 Reagan had OVERALL disapproval of 70%. Read the last paragraph:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/1980/04/15/anderson-cancels-five-state-campaign-swing/b0827503-2af3-4d35-81d1-ee09242f7d82/

BTW, if unfavorable ratings determine who wins elections, then Cruz has no chance either. His are at 55% and climbing.

Yeah, we distrusted the polls in 2012 and they were right. Trump supporters distrusted the polls in Wisconsin and, aside for the laughable ARG poll, they were right.

If there was this huge reservoir of Trump supporters, we’d have already seen it. Instead Trump is averaging, pretty consistently, about 1/3 (more precisely about 37%) of the voters turning out in Republican primaries. He is just not that popular and only did as well as he has because of the large number of candidates in the race. Lets put it this way, he is very unlikely to reach the requisite number of delegates to win the nomination on the first ballot.

There is no more silent majority, those days are gone. And even if there were, I doubt it would solidify around a realityTV star who is clearly not a conservative and flip flops on just about every issue imaginable.

Cletus is passing by Billy Bob's hay barn one day when, through a gap in the door, he sees Billy Bob doing a slow and sensual striptease in front of an old John Deere tractor.

Buttocks clenched, he performs a slow pirouette, and gently slides off first the right strap of his overalls, followed by the left. He then hunches his shoulders forward and in a classic striptease move, lets his overalls fall down to his hips, revealing a torn and frayed plaid shirt.

Then, grabbing both sides of his shirt, he rips it apart to reveal his stained T-shirt underneath. With a final flourish, he tears the T-shirt from his body, and hurls his baseball cap onto a pile of hay.

Having seen enough, Cletus rushes in and says, "What the world're ya doing, Billy Bob?"

"Good grief, Cletus, ya scared the bejeebers out of me," says an obviously embarrassed Billy Bob ....

"But me 'n the wife been havin trouble lately in the bedroom d'partment, and the therapist suggested I do something sexy to a tractor."

Cruz doesn't poll great against Clinton or Sanders, but he at least keeps it close and gives us a chance. Trump just gets slaughtered. Not just beat, utterly destroyed. We have no chance with Trump at all, none.

He (Trump) is just not that popular...

He is hugely popular among the people I associate with, blue-collar types who don't mind getting their hands dirty. These folks don't like DC lawyer doubletalk, and they don't like seeing their jobs shipped overseas. But they like what Trump has to say, because he says exactly what they are thinking.

As a matter of fairness, I will acknowledge that my social circle does not represent a majority of all Americans. They are instead part of a fast-disappearing group: the American middle class factory worker.

I read there was no gender gap in Wisconsin. So you can forget the “Trump hates women” meme.

The never Trumpers have nowhere to go. They are GOP plantation voters. A 3rd party never Trump run just blows up the GOP down ticket. Lot of unemployed GOPers in that case. Not going to happen.

Yeah, I saw some polls today too. Cruz in 3rd place in NY & MD. Read it and weep:

Even though I quit drinking any alcohol, I still like stopping by my old favorite watering hole once a week or so for a refreshing Roy Rogers and a little bullsh*ttin’.

Yup, but Cruz doesn’t need to win those. At this point all he has to do is do well enough to keep Trump from reaching the delegates he needs to be nominated. Trump is so unpopular with pretty much ALL parts of the party that he will likely lose to Cruz on the 2nd or 3rd ballot.

Trumpsters are likely to be the ones weeping.
