Chick-Fil-A To Open on Sundays
Garden & Gun ^ | April 1, 2016 | Jessica Mischner

Posted on 04/01/2016 7:53:19 AM PDT by stylecouncilor

This morning, a high-ranking Chick-Fil-A employee leaked the news to a small group of bloggers that the restaurant will soon open seven days a week. (Silent scream!) Historically, the famed Southern chicken chain has adamantly refused to open on Sundays, citing a conflict with its Christian values, but widespread customer demand, impending expansion plans, and a still-flagging economy have caused executives to reconsider that policy. “Our customers have been asking for this for a long time, and we just can’t say no any longer,” the source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, explained. The expanded hours will apply to each of the company’s 1,546 locations.

In addition to a special Sunday menu featuring new options like chicken and waffles and a brunch buffet (biscuits after 10:30AM!), each Chick-Fil-A location will offer a nondenominational worship service, as well. “We want to cater to the before, during, and after church crowd,” the source explained. No additional details have been released, and a press spokesperson refused to comment. For more news on this developing story, check back . . . next April Fool's Day.

I’m surprised the libs haven’t tried to take Chick-Fil-A to court in an effort to force them to open on Sunday citing freedom FROM religion..............sounds like something they would do.

I remember the Blue Laws..( was this just a Southern thing)

...so my mom and grandmother made a big Sunday dinner and kept it on the warmer while we went to church......

Ha ha...The first time my mom tried making or serving pizza ( I don’t know if she made it or bought it).....
....I sat on the back stoop and refused to eat it, because it didn’t smell like anything I could recognize
....having grown up with most of my foods fried and deep fried.

Today I love it!.....but eat it sparingly

‘Blue Laws’ weren’t just a Southern thing. My home state of Washington had some pretty strict Blue Laws for quite a while. Not so much anymore.

Grew up in Kansas City area in an era when we had blue laws. Everything was closed except for churches, hospitals and emergency city services. Everyone I knew went to church and Sunday school in the morning, then home for a family dinner and a nap and then back to church for training union and Sunday evening services.

We all did fine. Would make me very happy to see blue laws return everywhere and IMO the U.S. would be much better off morally.

The CRC is pretty strong in West Michigan and up until a decade ago Jenison Michigan had the only McDonalds that was closed on Sunday.

While most of the chain businesses are open on Sunday you will still find most of the Mom and Pops are still closed on that day.

Agreed. There are 168 hours in a week...after subtracting 24 of them Americans will *still* have plenty of time to buy the things they need or want.

Nope...I grew up in Massachusetts and just about everything was shut tight on Sundays.

Wonder how many folks would feel about giving up their precious NFL Football on Sundays?

Well, Paul admonished the newly formed church to not allow people to judge you by Sabbath's and New Moons. As the New Testament was sealed by the shed blood of Jesus, we were relieved of the Law. I didn't read of any reserved Law that was retained to beat people over the head with. As we moved into the new covenant with God, He left us with only one "Law", Love the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. This pretty much rounds up the whole Law of the OT in one statement.

God never changed the Sabbath to Sunday,....man did. He never relieved us of the command to set aside the Lord's Feast days, man did. In the millennium, God will reintroduce the Saturday Sabbath and we will celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem again.(Zech 14:16-21)

No NFL football on Sundays? That is an interesting question. Of course they cannot play on Saturday since that is when college teams play. Cannot play on Friday evening since that is when high school teams plan. Maybe more teams could play on Monday and Thursday since they already have games on those nights.

I personally think it is going to be a non-issue as I would suspect that football will eventually disappear although probably not in the few years I have left. Our family has always been avid watchers and used to have season tickets to the Chiefs years ago. But we quit NFL games when they started wearing all the pink krap.

Hard to believe that just a little over 40 years ago, the Brits didn’t allow soccer matches to be played on Sundays.

ezekiel 46:1 can tell us that
God never changed the Sabbath to Saturday either. man did.

which would be news to Muslims, Jews and Christians.
