Germs. Years ago I had a wallpaper hanging business. Was hired to do quite a bit of wallpaper and the people were gypsies. They had lived in the house quite a while but the plastic covers were still on the lampshades and living room furniture and there was no paper hanging being done in that room. The women of the household were truly germophobic. They referred me for other jobs within the gypsy community. All the houses were like this. I finally asked one woman about it and it was...germs! The women are also extremely nit-picky to avoid paying you for the completed work.

Because Europeans were unfamiliar with them, didn't understand who they were nor where they came from, they guess that they had come from EGYPT, which evolved in the word "gypsy".

The Romani/Roma should NOT be confused with the Irish "Tinkers", who also claim to be gypsies. There are pockets of them all over Europe and the USA.
