Bizarre Time Travel Scenario
Self | March 23, 2016 | PJ-Comix

Posted on 03/23/2016 3:03:54 PM PDT by PJ-Comix

This morning I had a vision of an incredible bizarre Time Travel scenario. This is how it goes:

A guy (his name is unimportant but you could call him Doc Brown if you want) invents a Time Machine (again the shape is unimportant but if you want, it could look like a DeLorean) on March 23, 2015. It can time travel to the future but can remain there for only less than a minute before returning to March 23, 2015 again.

The Time Traveler decides to travel exactly one year into the future to March 23, 2016 and then report to the world what he has discovered when he returns. To do this, he brings an iPad with him to quickly find out what is happening in the news.

Okay, the guy time travels to today, checks out his iPad for news, and registers incredible shock before returning back to March 23, 2015 less than a minute later. He tumbles out of the time machine, still in a state of shock, and unfortunately it blows up when he exits.

However, rather that mourn the loss of the time machine, the time traveler rushes to the town square with his shocking news. He yells out to everybody that he has time traveled to a year in the future and he has SHOCKING news to relay.

A skeptical but curious crowd gathers in the town square as the time traveler describes his destroyed time machine. He lectures a bit about flux capacitors and other stuff relating to the physics of time travel. Those in the crowd with some knowledge of science are impressed but still skeptical.

Finally, someone in the town square crowd yells out, "So tell us what shocking news you discovered from a year from now!"

"Jeb Bush has endorsed Ted Cruz for the GOP nomination!"

The crowd bursts out laughing. One of them says, "You sure had us going with your in-depth knowledge of physics but that tall tale means you never traveled to the future."

"But it's true! I swear it is! I saw the news on my iPad!" replied the time traveler.

Again the crowd laughed and one of them says, "Yeah, and next you'll be telling us Mitt Romney also endorsed Cruz!"

The crowd falls back to laughing again as the time traveler realizes there is no way for the crowd to find out he is telling the truth except to wait a year.

"Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney have endorsed a professional politician, Washington cartel Ivy League lawyer who has virtually zero experience in the real world but years of experience in the Bush White House and on the Washington Cocktail Party circuit, supports removing borders to create a North American Union, has proposed hundreds of thousands additional immigrants, TPA fast tracking for trade "agreements" which give Congress no say, and supports TPP which is 100 times worse then NAFTA, and is owned by Wall Street banks and other open borders, cheap labor express supporters---for the GOP nomination!"

In other news, the Pope is Catholic. And this just breaking: bears do it in the woods.

That's like the scene from the movie when Marty tells 1955 Doc Brown that Ronald Reagan is President.

Who is vice-president? Jerry Lewis?

"What if time travellers can only go back to the point when time travel was invented/discovered?"

That's what most conventional scientists who have looked into this have decided.

Why that's the case was never made clear enough for me to understand.

There are also other scientists who claim we will be able to travel into the past, but only into an alternate time line / alternate universe. This could be either a very dangerous, or very pointless exercise. Going back in time and getting Microsoft stock before it exploded might not work out so well if in the alternate universe Bill Gates slips on a banana peel and falls down a flight of stairs soon after you buy the stock.

No, it hasn’t. And you’d think at least someone would try it if only for the group marriage aspect.
Given the quality of sci-fi porn these days, that might be the only way it gets made.

Your time traveler is a dumbass, he should have picked up a current horse racing magazine showing all the winners of the year as well as all the winning Powerball numbers..................

If there was time travel, there would be proof of time travelers.

How would you know if what you are looking at is in fact proof?

They do a pretty good job of concealing the evidence.

A really good time travel movie is “Predestination” it gets convoluted.

You mean that Trans-Gender Propaganda disguised as Science Fiction?

Yeah, that was very convoluted. It is something you would expect from the Wachowski brothers, er... I mean Sisters.

“In other news, the Pope is Catholic.”

Except that along with the baffling future political news in the scenario, the news items reporting the Pope’s activities sound anything but Catholic, as he celebrates 500 years of Protestantism, approved Eucharist for remarried couples, and other previously heretical actions.

>>How would you know if what you are looking at is in fact proof?<<

To summarize all it would take would be one mistake. It hasn’t happened therefore it will not.

Time travel is theoretically possible, but impractical.
Suppose you actually did invent a Time Travel machine.
You get in, tune it to whatever date you want, close the door and turn it on.
What do you see through the window?
If you are lucky, nothing at all.
Why?
Because the time that you have traveled to is NOT where the Earth is at thattime. While you manipulated Time, you did not manipulate SPACE as well.
Remember, we occupy Space-Time, not just time alone.
You traversed Time, but at that same point in SPACE. So, either the Earth, and the entire Galaxy has not arrived at that point as yet, or it has passed far away.

"The Giver" is such a brilliant novel.

Probably as prescient as 1984 in describing what a dystopia liberal policies will lead to.

A dead society, that has no memory of the past, old people put to death when deemed no longer useful, but ONE person is there to remind people of freedom.

I have no idea why the left loves it.

It pretty much indicts their whole philosophy.

*Side note: I only read the first novel. Not sure whether they "redeem" liberals in the follow ups.

The original DESTROYS liberal thinking.
