Who Here Has Changed from Trump to Another Candidate?
Self | 03-14-16 | The Citizen Soldier

Posted on 03/13/2016 1:27:43 PM PDT by The Citizen Soldier

I have been on Free Republic for almost 15 years and almost never post anything. Love to lurk and post occasional response. In mid-February I changed my preference for President from Cruz to Trump. I've seen many others who have made a similar change in the past month.

I'm curious to learn those who have changed from Trump to another candidate, and why. I hope I have posted this correctly. If not, I apologize beforehand.

Losing maybe a couple of thousand dollars, I’ve been around the barn on this: first, Carson, then Walker, then Cruz. Although I’ve not donated anything to Trump, he is the only one to have a “USA” chanted at his events. I’m now for Trump!

Come to think of it, America's memories are short, and Cruz could still be VP!

I mean, who hasn't Trump called a liar?

Thanks for the opportunity:

"On June 16th, when we started this journey, there were 17 candidates.
I was told by everybody, 'Do not go to Iowa. You could never finish even in the
top ten.' And I said, 'But I have friends in Iowa. I know a lot of people in Iowa.
I think they'll really like me. Let's give it a shot.' They said, 'Don't do
it.' I said, 'I have to do it.' And, we finished second,
and I want to tell you something,

I'm just honored, I'm really honored."

Donald Trump

Dear kara37, I think “We” are just not posting anymore. Because as you said, we are just about done.

This used to be the FREE Republic, now it is just the FREE of criticism of Trump Republic. If you do comment, you are instantly in with the establishment, the media, a communist, or a supporter of the thugs. My Lord, if anything, I am sick of hearing people who used to be on the same side call each other ugly names. What awful things are being said here.

I am a Cruz supporter. I frankly don’t believe anything Trump says anymore. I think he will say anything to keep the crowd ginned up. I thought this was going to happen as it closer to convention. I didn’t think it would have come this soon. (I won’t even go into the nothing burger he fed everyone at the last debate.)

I think the most important question, how is Trump going to reconcile with all of the people he has pissed off during the primary. He is not. That is the number one question needing answered. The people on this board need to ask themselves the same question, how is that possible. Are you just going to hope that because he is the nominee, that everyone is going to love him and vote for Trump? I’m sorry, that isn’t going to happen.

I will vote for the nominee, regardless. I don’t think everyone else will do the same. Sad.

You can’t piss half of the base off and expect there to be lovey dovey in the election.

Ted Cruz has never let me down. I have listened to him from the time he first showed up in politics in Texas. He has always been on the conservative side. I don’t think 99% of what he has done has ever given me a bad feeling.

I hope the people supporting Trump understand this very fundamental idea. We all have to be unified in order to beat the democrats. You keep on calling people childish names and no one but yourselves will be standing with you.

Yes you are correct, in that we do not know what Trump will do in office, because he has no record in elective office.

However us conservatives ALREADY KNOW WHAT THE CAREER POLITICIANS will do. They have screwed the middle class since 1989, by relentlessly pushing the cheap labor express as ordered by their ultra-rich donors. And to top it off, the career politicians have got us into middle-east wars by borrowing Trillions from China, Japan, Europe. Again because of huge contributions from the defense industry & lobbyists. Now the middle-east is the biggest chaos and disaster. Thanks to the neocons we have ISIS on top of Al Qaeda and Taliban and other radical Islamists.

So, no thinking and intelligent person is going to be fooled by the career politicians in 2016.

Most Trump fans on FreeRepublic WERE 100% on board with ronpaul 2 years ago and had to go underground. Time it happens again.

you’re deranged. it’s just that simple. you’re so unhinged that you think someone other than BHO created ISIS — probably because it fits your deluded narrative.

Ted dropped off when he decided that the enemy of his enemy was his friend, and pulled a total alinsky move on Trump the other night. Not to mention that he is now in bed with the bush clan.

If you and your Family have that attitude in the General Election if Trump is the Republican Nominee, Hillary Clinton appreciates your not canceling out any of her Voters.

***********************************************

Why do you think Trump keeps losing in all the general election polls? It is because a major amount of republican voters have the same attitude.
The little cross over voters he gets will not make up for the epic loss of republican voters he’ll lose.
Everyone here is kidding themselves thinking that people will come around to him. They won’t.
The disgusting things he has said about women over the years, will kill him with the women vote. The republican women I know think he is a pig, and won’t vote for him ever.
Plus, add the pro life group that morally could never vote for someone that praises plan parenthood (30%). It is not hard to see that this election will be a slaughter for republicans if he is the nominee.

Yup, he blamed Trump for the protests. Context is EVERYTHING. The subject of his remarks -the context- was the protests that had just shut down trumps rally. Cruz talked about the protesters and trumps rhetoric. Critiqued both, meaning they were both to blame. Like Philadelphia lawyer, Cruz set it up so he has technical deniability, butabyone listening in CONTEXT knows he was blaming trump

So what exactly was Cruz blaming Trump for?

It is odd that we can blame Obama’s rhetoric for Ferguson, etc. But Trump should be held blameless.

I don’t think Trump caused the protests...there are more than enough paid protesters. Tone and words DO matter in the position he is in. It’s kind of fun to see someone say the words you and I might say over a beer, but it really isn’t what one should do if you have the “floor” in a presidential campaign.

There is no difference between ronpaulistas and trumpbots, both lack of civility and non-stop smearing trashed FR to almost destruction.
