Original BBC TV version of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

Also, here's a pre-Monty Python bit The Four Yorkshiremen Sketch with Marty Feldman>

Speaking of Marty Feldman, here's a bit from his TV show The Affair Sketch

It was a while back but Flying High was funny (Cummings was in it), and Rising Damp was a hoot. And I like Vicious, which is recent. If you are in to renting movies, check out the “Carry On” series. I particularly liked Make mine Mink, but most were named “Carry On Nurse, Carry on Dr.” etc. They had a wonderful cast. And I also liked the movie with Maggie Smith...it has several titles, one of them was A Royal Affair, I think. Its about a local gov’t party holding a dinner/dance to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s engagement to Prince Phillip during the privations of WW II and after, and how a social climber finagles to get an invite.

Surprised, but pleased to see Doctor in the House mentioned so early in the thread! And I did catch your forum I.D., as well!

Really enjoyed seeing the escapades of Dunkie, Upton, Professor Loftus, etc. Probably not too many Freepers ever got to see this little gem.

Long live Bubble & Squeak!

Monty Python’s Terry Jones did a 2 part video called “Barbarians” wherein he uses research and some humor in asking “Who were the Barbarians?” — the goths, visigoths, vandals etc or maybe — the mean old Roman Empire.
A different look at history of Europe and Great Britain.

I thoroughly enjoyed and wish I had watched with someone ‘cause there are great conversation threads all thru where I remember saying to self “Wow, I did’t know that.”

don’t have the time to check every post right now.....but ‘The Fall and Rise of Reggie Perrin’ is really funny! From the 70’s, with Leonard Rossiter as Reggie Perrin.

Ab-Fab was very funny about two ultra materialistic middle aged women.

The too short lived “Blandings”. Hilarious beyond words.

“New Tricks”, a British Unsolved Cases Squad series has some of the best comic lines around. So does the more “black” “Waking the Dead” “cold case squad” series. One of the best ever.

Glad someone nominated “The Vicar of Dibley”. Sidesplittingly funny.

“Enslow” character in “Keeping Up Appearances”, along with “Daisy” and “Rose”.
