Trump should pick Ted Nugent as VP to fight for the Millenial vote and the musician vote, while solidifying his standing with the anti-politician vote. As much as I like Cruz, most Trump supporters hate Cruz so much that they would refuse to vote Trump were Trump to willingly endorse Cruz as VP.

Oh, the irony that would be.

For some freepers, it would be like one of the Martians from Mars Attacks! getting a good hit of a Slim Whitman tune...

I’ve said it all along but not for the reasons you’ve described.

Trump doesn’t need Cruz’ ‘organization’ which is occupied by some scumbag liars.

What Donald may need is delegates to overcome the threat of a brokered convention.

If Donald continues to increase his support, he may not need Cruz for delegates, he can go with Ben Carson who is gentle and intelligent, and who will soften Donald’s grizzly image.

If Ted doesn’t make VP, there’s an opening on SCOTUS tailor made for him.

Trump screwed that Pooch a month or two ago.

Before Trump went psycho I thought Trump/Cruz would be great for much of the same reasons you have.

Trump screwed up big time.

Not after Cruz started to show his Nixonian side. I would look for someone who may be a politician, but made their money before entering politics, or another complete outsider. Donald Trump’s administration is not going to be influenced by special interests, at all.

A little research produces:
1. Bill Haslam, a Republican, Governor of Tennessee
2. Philip Norman “Phil” Bredesen, Jr., Democrat, former Governor of Tennessee
3. Bruce Rauner, a Republican, Governor of Illinois

So it looks pretty good that Donald Trump can find an executive with government experience who can not be bought either.

Based on Saturdays debate, Trump will select Medea Benjamin as his VP.

I agree that Trump would like Cruz’ army of God (and private NSA-like databank), but he would like the army of God without Cruz. In a two-person race, Trump is going to have to be competitive in battleground states. Cruz isn’t the best running mate for this purpose. Maybe Gov. Nikki Haley (for a lot of reasons). But, Trump is a deal-maker. Let Cruz be AG and have a major say in selection of justices. Plus, Cruz can see the logic in this.

Only way I see this is if they are FORCED to stand back to back against a GOPe attack via brokered convention or some similar chicanery. That is the only way it would happen now, and it isn’t a sure thing even then.

I can’t see Trump picking any of the GOP losers. It’s going to be someone new.

Trump will never pick Cruz for VP at this point. That ship sailed. But don’t be surprised if he picks Kasich.

Politics makes strange bedfellows, as the saying goes. Up until the last couple of weeks I'd say the rift was still mendable, but I'm not so sure now.

Cruz could be an asset to a Trump administration in a number of roles, but the real issue is what would he bring to the general election campaign? Exactly which States would Trump/Cruz carry that Trump/X would not? Like it or not, that's the calculus that any presidential candidate makes in selecting a running mate.

In the particular case of Trump, there's another factor. One of the arguments for Trump is that he's the only Republican who can plausibly win supposedly "safe" Blue states like NY and NJ. If that happens it's game over for the Democrats since there's no way any Red state would vote for either Hillary or Bernie over Trump. So the question becomes would Cruz be an asset or a liability to Trump in these Blue states? Ted's overt evangelicalism may be an asset in the South but it's a huge liability in the Blue States and it's easy to foresee ads raising the specter of "Pastor-in-Chief" Cruz a "heartbeat away" from the presidency flooding those markets to keep the Blue States solidly Blue and have sway in the key Purple States critical to any contested race.

You missed Trump’s press conference yesterday. Someone asked him and he said, no, he’s not on my list.

Trump will choose Cruz, for many reasons, and then we’ll find out that all of this was an act they hatched to keep the kiddies from getting any traction.

They will make a GREAT PAIR and the Dems won’t stand a chance, and they already know that.

Being a Cruz supported myself, I hope that scenario does not play out!

If Trump were to win (gulp) Texas is probably already in the bag! If Trump were smart he would choose Rubio of Florida, or Kasich of Ohio! Without at least one of the states in the R column, then it would definitely be harder for Trump (gulp) to win!
