CIA director: The Middle East is the worst it's been in 50 years with 'unprecedented' bloodshed

John Brennan, the CIA director, told a Senate committee Tuesday that the violence and instability in the Middle East was the worst it had been in 50 years, painting a dire picture of a region he said was facing "unprecedented" bloodshed.

Brennan spoke at the Senate Intelligence Committee's annual worldwide-threats hearing, emphasizing the threats the US faces as the Middle East devolves further into chaos.

"The Middle East right now I think is racked by more instability and violence and inter-state conflict than we've seen certainly in the past 50 years," Brennan said. "And the amount of bloodshed and humanitarian suffering is I think unprecedented."

Brennan pointed to the Arab Spring uprisings that started in 2011 as the flash point for the chaos.

"I think it's been five years now since the Arab Spring started to take root, which had a very traumatic impact on governments throughout the region, and the street became alive," Brennan said. "Al Qaeda and terrorist organizations did not trigger that, but they've taken full advantage of it."

“Bush did it”...at least America led, our enemies were fearfull.

“Obama” created a “FUBAR” situation globally and now the implosion will reach America's shores.

Up until Obama, things were relatively stable and when a major war happened, America stepped in to restore order.

Now America is leading from behind.

Funny, the term, “War in the Middle East” means usually, Israel is fighting a defensive war against Arab hoards.

Yet, “Peace in the Middle East” means Arab is slaughtering Arab or Muslim against Muslim...

I’m afraid that its all just starting, really.
The next step is for the Turks to go to war, invading Syrian Kurdistan in order to save their clients. That will put them at war with, well, everyone else, maybe.
Then there is the prospect of Iranian - Saudi fighting, already a proxy war in Yemen, but now possibly in Syria also.

Barry, Hillary, Biden, Kerry created this mess. The most evil government in the history of the republic. AFP is FUBAR. Domestic policy is FUBAR.

Sounds like God is allowing the enemies of Israel to beat themselves senseless in Syria.

It is almost worth buying them more ammo and buying ourselves some popcorn.

Hey, Brennan. Any truth to the rumors your boys were in Benghazi trying to get back all those MANPADS you gave the Libyans that ended up in Syria with the ‘rebels’?

You don’t have to be a prophet to sense that tensions in the world, and even in our own nation, are rising big time. Anger is up. Core values among factions are polar opposite and incompatible. Judges are choosing winners and losers. No more “we the people.” It’s “they the judges.” Politicians lie to get elected. People are in full rebellion. Government has lost its legitimacy by killing republicanism, thereby losing the respect of the people. Too many people have no idea that they are playing with fire. The lessons of history are for all practical purposes down the memory hole. Even old terminology and contracts (such as the U.S. Constitution) have been redefined and left disconnected to their original meaning. Freedom is no longer about being responsible for yourself but rather about forcing approval from others or punishing others for your long list of grievances AND about getting bully government to make sure YOU get your cut of other people’s earnings. And that’s us. The middle east is way out in psycho land.

Of course the answer is a President Trump. He will force Mexico to build us a wall; get China to take out Kim Jong Un; slaughter the families of the terrorists; force businesses to stay in the U.S.; “take care of everyone”; etc. /s

It all started with that one YouTube video, oh, and the Mohammed cartoons. Before that it was all peaceful all the time.

You don’t have to be the director of the CIA to see that the Middle East is in bloody chaos. Mainly thanks to BHO and Hillary Clinton and John Kerry.
