IT’S HAPPENING JUST LIKE I TOLD YOU The implosion of the Democrats has begun
American Spectator ^ | 5 Feb, 2016 | Scott McKay

This piece will borrow liberally from a pair of previous occupants of this space, in which (1) it was prophesied that Hillary Clinton will not ultimately be that party's nominee and (2) Mike Bloomberg will be allowed to ride in and purchase that party lock, stock and barrel.

Now that those prophecies no longer reside deep in left field, that is.

Bernie Sanders has an incredibly motivated and desperate base. After tying in Iowa, they are working over time to win every caucus.

Especially if they feel they were cheated in Iowa. There will be no more coin tosses.

Obama will save Hillary from being indicted despite an FBI report that gives damning evidence she committed numerous crimes not the least of which is influence peddling through foreign government donations to the phony Clinton Foundation. This will create a crisis in the FBI and the report will be leaked before the election even if Hillary is not indicted. The mainstream media will try to ignore the evidence, pooh-pooh it as a right wing conspiracy or do nything else they can to bury the story. However, the report will get traction and likely kill Hillary’s chances of being elected. The Democratic Party will then have the choice of giving a now discredited Hillary the nomination, go with Sanders who has even less chance of being elected or bringing in someone else like Biden or Bloomberg at the last minute. Hillary may escape indictment now, but with a GOP appointee running the DOJ she will be indicted later unless Obama gives her a last minute pardon when he leaves office.

The Obama pardon is inevitable. She has as much on him as he has on her, so he will be forced to pardon her.

Well then I stand corrected. Seems wrong to make political prophecies instead of predictions, but I guess that is just me.

No, Greg, you're correct. It's the dictionary that's wrong.

it's just that in common parlance, they're used interchangeably.

Biblically, prophets were "called" by God and "sent" to "tell", sent to tell the people the message God had for them whether it was a call to repentance, comfort in exile, or whatever.

They weren't crystal ball gazers or predictors of the future. God simply sent them to tell the people His messages which sometimes included telling them what He would do if they didn't change their ways.

You are correct in saying that that differs from prediction.

the prophet "model", if you will, was based on the ancient custom of a ruling king sending a special messenger to a vassal state indicating his commands for it. As a matter of fact, some of the Biblical prophetic writings even use formulae similar to those of the messages of overlords to their vassals that have been discovered archaeologically.

So, you are correct. Prediction is not the same as prophecy but the term prophecy has been bastardized from its original meaning over time.
