We are suppose to be on the same team and have the same goals. What went wrong? I'm not dumping FR. Just going to give it a month or so. The msm must love to read these post lately . Look we got them eating their own. We have a goal and whats happening on Free Republic is not it. See ya in awhile . god bless.
Hmmmm....
Maybe that's what that smell is. Eau de pepi le pew??
Whew!!!
It's not that simple. I originally joined in Sept or Oct 1998. There was a small tight clique here then.
When FR changed their site software a couple of years later, they were all allowed to keep their original name, but I was not among the anointed. Not a big deal.
It's not such a simple story...
OH LIBBYLU....are you upset AGAIN???
True.
But here's a difference that matters a lot to one's longevity.
The posters who start riots never feel it important to bother stating a cogent reason why. "Just my opinion, loser."
And the fight is on.
I ignore those like the plague!
I know exactly what you mean!
I hate red elephants too!
: )
That’s interesting. The oldest sign-ups do have a certain panache.
The point I was agreeing with is that some of the oldest sign up dates belong to some of the nastiest posters. I’ve encountered a few. There’s no excuse for jerkishness on that order of magnitude.
Damnit. I did it again. I meant Rogue, as in Sarah’s book Going Rogue. Now, all I can think about are Elephant in the color of Rouge! Well, the GOP convention will be happening later this summer.
Sadly true.
Tragically, I think the pinnacle of Free Republic engagement was in 2005-2006, when we led the nation in beating back the Bush-McCain Amnesty and Bush's Supreme Court nomination of RINO Harriet Miers.
In my opinion, the Republican Party Civil War began - and continues - on these pages.
I'm a Conservative, and after 30 years of humiliating compromises, I'm not backing up another inch.
Sew True!//
No, that would be Laz. When he takes a shower, people listen!
It actually does. We don't talk about it though. Hang in there. Another six, seven years and you might get the memo, handshake and ring.
I hear you. Do what you have to do. Come back when you’re ready.
I agree and find it the most troubling aspect.
Setting aside one's conservatism and what this forum stands for in an effort to advance their support for any candidate makes absolutely no sense.
It's as if winning at any and all cost trumps, no pun intended, the conservative values that brought us together in the first place.
Maybe a sign of the times, I don't know.
Fine, as long as my Goodie Bag also contains one of those Miner’s hats with the Elk Horns attached. I heard that was for the Insider’s insider only!
That might be a stretch. Negotiations may be needed.
Actual head wear granted is on need-to-know basis.
Well, yes, and then there are some of us mellowed with age and experience for whom the fires of time have settled into a rosy glow, in whom toleration and benevolence have taken the place of hostility and ill feeling, for whom serenity fills the universe with a gong-like echo of pure wellbeing.
Not me, though. I hate you all.
8 floors at your H.S.? Mine too! JFK?
If Hillary wins, conservative values die with the conservatives. The first conservative obligation is to win. If that has to be done with a 10% conservative, then so be it, because the alternative is the loss of the country.
Cass Tech High School in Detroit. Michigan. Colors were green and white. Rumor was the building used to be a pickle factory. The behemoth has been torn down now, much to some citizens regret. There just aren’t that many qualifying students in Detroit anymore.
They have The Portables now. Groups of trailers on ground level, plus a smaller new building. I used to have an english teacher who spoke to the class about when Diana Ross was a student in his class.
