“To Live and Die in L.A.” SoCal ping
That bridge is in just about every movie ever filmed in LA.
Bummer. I’m sure the new one will be sterile and boring
Please ping me with any Southern California related articles. Thank you!
If you want on or off this ping list, please FReepmail me.
Liberals will leave it open until 4 weeks after the closing date.. and then hold up the construction and reopening for the next two years, making sure that only humans will suffer
Really? Bummer. This is one of the rare freeway bridges with any architectural detailing. Art Deco I suppose. I hope they rebuild it like it was.
Beats closing it after demolition.
“Let’s Take a Trip Down Whittier Boulevard”
(any real locals here?)
Sad to see the Bridge go. Drive by it all the time.
My parents moved to Normandy near Hollywood Blvd. in 1955. My brother and I took our mother to their old apartment last month in December 2015: clean, felt safe and still a nice location. I talked to a local city planner last week about Normandy and Hollywood area. He said the area has an average income of $100K and the young people there “like a gritty feel to the neighborhood.” After the trip to Normandy we prayed and purchased gifts at Holy Angels church near Gower, the cloistered monastery for Dominican nuns. They sell fudge that goes great with coffee.
